CHINESE COMMUNIST CENTRAL GOVERNMENT MAY MOVE TO NORTHWEST
Taihoku, 10 November -- It is the general, opinion of intelligence specialists
that in event of another war, the Northeast will be placed under the. responsibility
of the Soviet Union and the Central government of the Chinese Communists will be
moved to somewhere in the Northwest.
Since the Chinese Communist entered the Korean war, they have been shifting
their attention to the development of the Northwest over the Northeast. It is re-
ported -that a number of Northeast factories have already been transferred to the .
Northwest with Lan.-thou as the center of the dispersion area. These moves, it is
said, are being made in preparation for any eventuality.
Reliable sources report that some 20,000 laborers are now working day and
night on 'the construction of the TTien-shui -- Lan-thou railway line to meet the
target date of the end of'March 1951, which has been set for the completion of
this line by the Chinese Communist authorities.
