THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION The Azneft' Association as a whole completed the 9-month plan for petro- leum extraction and supplied tens of thousands of tons of petroleum on its Socialist obligations.(1) Nevertheless only 32 out of the association's 67 oil fields and only 133 out of the total number of 271 brigades completed the 9-month plan.(2) The 9-month plan was completed ahead of schedule by the LeninneftI, StalinneftI, Kirovneft', KaganovichneftI, Buzovnyneft', and Siazan'- neft' trusts but was not completed by the Ordzhonikidzeneft', Azizbekovneft', Molotovneft', Neftechalaneft', Kergezneft', and Kirovabadneft' trusts.(l) The Stalinneft' (3) and the Buzovnyneft' trusts have also completed the 10-month plan ahead of schedule.(4) The Stalinneft' Trust has increased its producing reserves by 187 wells. At the oil fields, 2,100 geological and technical measures have been carried out, and improved technique has raised the average daily output 200 tons. One hundred eighteen wells have been converted from the compressor method of exploi- tation to the deep-well pump method. Seven out of eight oil fields are meeting their daily quotas.(3) Oil fields No 2, 5, 6, 13, and 14 of the Leninneft' Trust have reported ahead-of-schedule fulfillment of their year petroleum extraction obligations. During 9 months, the producing reserves of the trust were increased by 155 oil wells. Labor productivity rose 2.7 percent instead of the promised 1.5 percent. The production costs of a ton of petroleum and gas were reduced 2.9 percent be- low the plan instead of the promised 0.5 percent.(4) On 20 October, the Azmorneft' Association completed the 10-month plan for petroleum extraction. Since the beginning of 1950 daily petroleum extraction in the association has increased 39 percent and, the producing reserves have risen 20 percent. The outstanding oil field in the trust is oil field No 4 of the Artemneft' Trust which during 1950 has increased its petroleum output 28 percent and its number of producing wells 27 percent.(5) Workers of the Geological Prospecting Trust of the Aznefterazvedka Asso- ciation completed the 9-month plan for drilling 104.8 percent.(6) CLASSIFICATION STATE NAVY NSRB ARMY AIR FBI T DISTRIBUTION )Via f< Do Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2011/07/22 : CIA-RDP80-00809A000600360966-0 Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2011/07/22 : CIA-RDP80-00809A000600360966-0 r 1 sage = 5rei zceft' Ac :;e':cn {c :. _csifying its efforts in anticipation f f . %a ann_versarv of 7 ti,,' onuer. The Order of Lenin Refinery imen'_ Stal.i..n has promised to fulfill the year plan by 7 November. At the beginning of 1950, tnis plant was not able to pro- luce at capacity since winter conditions had hampered the activity of the oil fields and prevented them from shipping adequate amounts of petroleum to it. At present, the refiuczy has overcome this lag and had fulfilled the year plan for its basic protu.cts, which are light petroleum products and oils. Tens of tr4.in1osds of above -t)!-%n petroleum products have already been delivered to the country. Petroleum losses have been decreased 10.5 percent below the plan az.d ..=;000 tone of fuel have been saved..(9) The Refinery imeni Andreyev has processed 12 trainloads of above-plan pe- troleum products since the beginning of 1950.(10) This refinery has been awarded the Transferable Red Banner of the Council of Ministers USSR for its achievements The Refinery imeni Dzaparidze has been in possession of the Transferable Red Banner of the VTsSPS and of the Ministry of the Petroleum In- dustry since the beginning of 1950- This refinery has replaced the use of mazut with low-grade fuel in conformance with the important task facing the petroleum industry of saving mazut by using some less valuable petroleum product. Increased motor buildine in the nostwar years has led to requirements for a greater assortment of fue a ant oils and an improvement in their quality. Azerbaydzha.n p rraleum workers are developing new types of fuel and oil and are continuing to increase the efficiency of their technical installations as well as to master new, highly effective processes.(9) SOURCES 1.
