MILITARY CADRE SCHOOL REGULATIONS PROVIDE
FREE EDUCATION TO ACCEPTABLE CANDIDATES
On 25 December 1950, the Political Department of the People's Rev-
olutionary Military Council, Central People's Government of China, issued
regulations pertaining to enrollment, procedure of application, educa-
tional. requirements, and length of course in military cadre schools.
Free education will be provided to acceptable candidates.
Peiping, 25 December (Hsin-hua) -- On 25 December 1950, the Political Depart-
ment of the People's Revolutionary Military Council, issued the following regula-
tions pertaining to military cadre schools
1.. Any patriotic young intellectual, specialist, or technician, with good
character and health, possessing a pure ideological concept and the necessary
education, between 16 and 25 years of age, and willing serve.in ccountry's
national defense and construction program, may apply for mili-
tary cadre school.
2. The a0pplicant must submit letters of introduction from a relevant people's
government of ch'u level or higher, and from an organized people's group.
3. The length of course, educational requirements, and percentage of female
students' accepted in different military cadre schools are as follows-
Medical colleges -- Four-year course. First grade or above in a middle
or higher school, or equivalent education required. Fifty percent of those students
accepted may be females.
Secondary medical schools -- Two years. First grade or above in a primary
or middle school, or equivalent education required. Fifty percent of the students
