Six ordinary mine-car feed mechanisms are produced in the USSR. Their
designations, originating plants, and specifications are as follows:
The TV-1 p:.ston-action pneumatic-powered feeder is series-produced at
the Toretskiy Plant.

The EGT-2 is also a piston-action unit, but it runs on a hydraulic sys-
tem, using an oil medium and an electric pump. An experimental series of
these machines has been put ot.t by the Malakhovskiy Plant.

T e MTsT and the ET chain-driven, electric-powered feeders are made at
the Tovarkovskiy and the Don Mining-Machinery Repair Plants. Designed for
use at stationary loading and switching points, they require foundations of
300-800 millimeters' depth,

The KT-3 cable-drawn, electric -powered model is made at the Kopeysk
Mining-Machinery Repair Plant, and is being put into production at the Toret-
skiy Plant. It is used at movable and semistationary loading points. The
cable must be changed every 10-12 days.

The PET-1 chair_-d-riven electric-powered model is produced by the Khar -
kov Svet Shakhtera Plant.. The chain loop runs in a horizontal plane, and the
unit does not require a foundation. It is used at loading and switching points.

Three special feeders for exchanging cars in cages are put out at present.
The model produced at the Svet Shakhtera Plant is a chain-driven, electric-
powered type, mounted between the rails, and requiring no foundation. Its dog
acts on the rear buffer of the car.

Plastic bearings, which have been found to have a low friction coeffi-
cient and resistance to seizing, are used in the pumps. The bearings are
water-lubricated, but since the pumps will occasionally run dry, subjecting
the bearings to damaging wear, graphite has been added to the plastic, giv-
ing the bearings a higher heat conductivity. They are ma.e at the I4-ar'kov
Nabivok Plant.

The new LKU-250 belt conveyer put out by the Kharkov Svet Shakhtera
Plant is designed for moving coal on an incliner The specifications of the

EXCEEDS PRODUCTION QUOTA -- Kiev, Pravda Ukrainy, 28 Oct 50
The Khar'kov Svet Shakhtera Plant has exceeded the production called
for in the Five-Year Plan, and improved the quality of its products. Produc-
tion of the LKU-250 conveyer is now well under way. This conveyer Js spe-
cially designed for work on slopes.
Another important p_rnaluct of the plant is the SK-30 scraper conveyer,
which it operated in conjunction with the Donbass combine.
The plant has produced a new lamp of increased candle power, the LAU-4.
In the first and third quarters of this year, the plant held first place
in the all-Union competition among enterprises of the coal industry. The av-
erage monthly production per worker is now double the prewar figure.
