At a recent session of the Croatian People's Skupstina, Chairman of the
Economic Council Jakov Blazevic stated the Croatian national revenues in 1938
amounted to about 37 billion diners, and in 1949 to 63 billion dinars, while
in 1950 they were several billions less than in 1949 because of the drought.
Revenues from industry amounted to L1 billion diners in 1938 and 25.5 billion
diners in 1950, and those from agriculture were 14.5 billion in 1938 and al-
most 16.5 billion in 1949. Investments of republic and local significance
amounted to 1.5 billion dinars in 1935, and close to 8 billion in 1950.
The total turnover of goods in 1950 was about 28 billion dinars, which is
73 percent greater than in 1947. The 1950 republic Flan for industrial produc-
tion was fulfilled 97.2 percent.

5,106,175,000 dinars, of which 99.3 percent was fulfilled. The 1950 forestry
plan for shipping logs was fulfilled 89 percent. The 1950 coal production plan
was fulfilled 89.7 percent. Local industrial production in 1950 amounted to al-
most 9 billion dinars.

if the average yearly production indox of the "Djuro Djakovic" Factory is
100, the 1950 production index is 1,400. Before the war the Sisak ironworks
had one blast furnace, which produced 20,000 tons of pig iron pervyear. When
the two additional blast furnaces ere in operation, production will be 108,000
tens per year. The new cotton-spinning mill in Zagreb, which has already been
completed, will produce 1,200 tons of yarn per year. This will yield 2,500,000
meters of cotton fabric. The thread factory in Sinj is scheduled to be com-
pleted by the end of 1951. The Fotokemina Factory produced yearly 500,000
square meters of photographic paper, 165,000 rolls of enlarging paper, and
10,000 cweree The "tTngovin11' Factory will begin the production of 1,700
tons of plastics this year.
In 1951, investments in the. Sisak ironworks will amount to.6x8 million
dinars, in the ""Prvomajska" Factory to 42,560,000 dinars, in the,~?Bade Kon-
car"" Factory to 103.16o,000 dinars, in the "Jedinstvo" Fact_- to- 57,000"000
dinars in the Machine shop of the petroleum enterprise in 8estietsk'i Kral.

The total investments of .republic significance in 1951 will amount to
6,473,300,000 dinars; namely, 5,519,860,000 dinars for republic investments
and 950,440,000 diners for local investments. Of this amount, 1,099,930,000
dinars are scheduled 'or the social standard. The sum of 3,122,800,000
dinars will be spent fo-- federal projects, so that the total investments for
construction in Croatia will amount to 7,270,660,000 dinars in 1951. Republic
investments for Istria will be 343,938,000 diners, local investments 170,590,000
dinars, and federal investments 315,900,000 dinars, Thus, the total investments
in Istria in 1951 will be 830,428,000 dinars.
Between 1947 .and 1950, 250 kilometers of the Belgrade-Zagreb highway were
built in Croatia. 186.4 kilometers of roads were repaired, 48.1 kilometers of
:roads were reconstructed, 56.3 kilometers wee fitted for modern traffic, 13
concrete road bridges -totaling 338 meters in length were constructed and re-
placed, three railroad bridges totaling 250 meters were replaced, and seven
wooden bridges totaling 41.1 meters were constructed. Not counting the bridges
on the Belgrade-Zagreb highway, a total of 34 bridges with a total length of
1,322 metere were built in Croatia between 1947 and 1950. A total of 108.5
kilometers of railroads were built between 1947 and 1950. These railroads in-
clude the 10i=kilometer Una line and the 7.5-kilometer Grubisno Polje-Bastaji
line. The Lupoglav-Stalije line will be completed soon.
Industry of republic significance fulfilled 93,3 percent of its Five-Year
Plan in 1950. If the production of federal enterprises is included with that
of republic enterprises, 95 percent of the Five-Year Plan was fulfilled in 1950.

The following metal factories, not called for in the Five-Year Plan,
were built= the electrode factory in Zagreb, the tool factory in Nova Gra-
diska, the textile-machinery factory in Cakovec, and the central tool shop
in Zagreb.
The following branches of industry are not fulfilling their Five-Year
Plans: chemical, construction, textile, food, power, ceramics, prefabri-
cated houses, cemer,e, and hollow glass.
