THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION DATE OF INFORMATION' 1951 INCREASED DOMESTIC CHEMICAL PRODUCTION IN YUuUSLAVIA WILL PERMIT EXPORT OF CERTAIN PRODUCTS SOON CELLULOSE FACTORY GETS 2 MOPE BOILER? -- Ljubljana, Sl_ovenskl Porocevalec, 8 Mar 51 The fourth and fifth boiler in the cellulose factory in Prijedor were com- pleted recently., The fourth boiler has been in operation for the past 1,4 days, while the fifth boiler was placed in operation on 5 March 1951.. Nov that the fifth boiler is in operation the factory will be able to increase production 40 percent, When all the installations are completed and the factory is operating at full capacity, it will produce 36,000 tons of cellulose per year. The factory already satisfies the needs of Yugoslav paper factories for sulfite cellulose. When the cellulose factory in Doboj is completed, Yugoslavia will no longer import caustic-soda cellulose, With the fourth and fifth boiler operating, the cellulose factory in Prijedor will produce so much sulfite cellulose that it will be able to export some to Italy soon, TO PRODUCE NEW CHEMICALS ?-- Sarajevo, Oslobodjenje, 19 Mar 51 Jajce, 18 March -- New equipment will be installed this year in the "Elektrobosna' Factory to facilitate the production of chemically pure mer- curic chloride, a pest-killer; mercury oxide, which is used in medicine; anhydrous metal oxide, which is used. in the dye, petroleum, and medicine industry; and chloroform, Some quantities of the first two chemicals will be exported. All four chemicals were previously imported.
