The new West German-Czechoslovak trade agreement, which runs from 1 Jan-
uary to 31 December 1951, envi9ages an exchange oP 3001 million dollars' worth
of goods in each direc~tion~ Czechoslovak exports to West Germany will include

Calf intestines and stomachs
Phenol, cresol
Propane, butane
Industrial benzene

On 13 March, an agreement on the interchange of gocds between ~zechosl3vakia
and the Soviet Union was.atgned in Moscow This agreement covers 1951 and is
based on the 5-year agree~:ant signed in ftovember 1950.

Imports from the Soviet Union will include petroleum and petroleum products,
chemical raw materials, rare medicines, valuable seeds, synthetic fertilizer,
rare metals, and other goods.
President Gottwald announced than ~ to the time of the meeting of the
Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, deliveries of 600,000
tons of bread grains from the Soviet Union had been assured Lp to the 1951 heu?-
vest. In addition, 308,000 tons of barley and corn are to be imported. Another
155,000 tons of bread grains are to be imported from the USSR by the end of May
1951?

SIGNS TRADE AGREEMENT WITH BULGARIA -- Sofia, Izgrev, 7 Mar 51
The 1951 trade agree~ent between Bulgfu?ia end Czechoslovakia was signed in
Sofia on 5`March 1951 by 1'van.Perepeliev, Bulgarian Vice-Minister of the Interior,
and M1lislav Irgea, for Czechoslovakia.
