The Rostovugol' Combine mined 283,000 tons of above-plan coal in 1950?
At present, more than 100 mine faces ,in the combine are operating on a cycle
schedule, completing one cycle each 24 hours. The coal output of these 100
faces has risen 24 percent and labor productivity 25.7 percent over that of
the period prior to the conversion to the cycle method.
During 1951, the combine has assumed the obligation to:
1. Complete the year plan ahead of schedule and deliver 150,000 tons
of above-plan coal, including 10,000 tons of coal for coking.
2. Raise the number of faces operating on a cycle schedule and com-
pleting one cycle each 24 hours to 50 percent of the total number of faces
in mines of the combine.
3. Increase mechanized loading of coal at the mine face to 34 percent
by the end of 1951.
4. Raise labor productivity 10.8.percent above the 1950 level.
5. Complete the plan for capital construction by 21 December. Com-
plete the plan for the construction of housing and cultural and public
buildings by 2 December 1951, and put into use nine cultural and public
buildings.
6. Lower the production costs of coal below the plan and deliver
during the year 3 million rubles in above-plan accumulations.
Miners of the combine call upon .---3 miners of the Molotovugol' Combine
to continue Socialist competition betveeen the two combines in 1951.

PROMISE INCREASED OUTPUT -- Moscow, Pravda, 5 Apr 51
The Stalinugol' and Artemugol' combines have made pledges for 1951 as
follows:
1. Complete the year plan ahead of schedule and, in the case of the
Stalinugol' Combine, to mine 250,000 tons of above-plan coal, including
150,000 tons of coking coal. In the case of the Artemugol' Combine, to
mine 150,000 tons of above-plan coal including 70,000 tons of coking coal.
2. Increase labor productivity above the 1950 level 10.5 percent for
the Stalinugol' Combine and 14.5 percent for the Artemugol' Combine.
3. By the end of 1951, convert to a cycle work schedule, completing
one cycle each 24 hours, 50 percent of operating mine faces of the Stalin-
ugol' Combine and 40 percent of operating faces of the Artemugol' Combine.
4. Raise the level of coal loading to 40 percent at faces of slightly
dipping mines of the Stalinugol' Combine by increasing the number and the
productivity of coal combines.
5. Complete the plan for capital construction by 21 December. Com-
plete the plan for the construction of living quarters by 7 November and
put into use 59,000 square meters of living quarters in the case of the
Stalinugol' Combine and 29,000 square meters in the case of the Artemugol'
Combine. Complete by 5 December the year plan for the construction of
cultural and public buildings, and put into use 28 buildings in the case
of the Stalinugol' Combine and seven in the case of the Artemugol' Combine.
6. Deliver 20 million rubles of above-plan accumulations in the case
of the Stalinugol' Combine and 5 million rubles i:i the case of the Artemu-
gol' Combine by lowering the production costs of coal and of products of
the branch enterprises.
The Stalinshakhtostroy made pledges as follows to:
1. Complete the year plan for construction and assembly work by
21 December.
2. Put 17 coal mines and four coal-cleaning plants into operation
during 1951.
3. Complete the year plan for the establishment of living quarters
in September 1951.
4. Complete the year plan for the establishment of 94 cultural and
public buildings by 5 December.
5. Increase labor productivity 10 percent above the level achieved
in 1950.
6. Lower the costs of construction and deliver during the year 12
million rubles of above-plan savings.
AIM AT HIGHER PRODUCTION -- Moscow, Pravda, 15 Apr 51
The Voroshilovgardugol' Combine pledged during 1951 to do the following:
1. Complete the year plan ahead of schedule and mine 100,000 tons of
above-plan coal, including 17,000 tons of coal for coking.

2. Convert 35 percent of all operating mines to a schedule completing
one cycle each 24 hours by the end of the year.
3. Raise mechanized coal loading at mine faces in sloping mines to
35 percent in the fourth quarter of 1951 by introducing a greater number
of coal combines and raising their productivity.
Complete the plan for housing construction by 7 November, and put into use
31,100 square meters of housing. Complete the year plan, for cultural- and
public-building construction by 5 December, and put into use 13 cultural
and public buildings.
6. Deliver during the year 3 million rubles of above-p]zr_ accumula-
tions by lowering the production costs of coal and of the products of branch
enterprises.
1. Complete the plan for construction and installation by 21 December.
2. Finish construction, and put into operation eight coal mines and
3. Complete the year plan for housing construction in September 1951-
4. Complete the year plan for cultural and public building construc-
tj.on by 5 December 1951, and put into use 55 cultural and public buildings.
6. Lower construction costs below the plan and deliver during the
year 10 million rubles of above-plan accumulations.
