LOWER INSURANCE RATES ~~ Berlin, Nachrichten fuer Auasenhandel, 20 Jan 51
The state~~owned insurance companies in the German Democratic Republic
have reduced the coat of premiums and improved insurance coverage. Differen~
tiation between rates for small and large policies has been abolished. More-
over, higher premiums will no longer be charged for policies covering persons
exposed to special occupational hazards.
All policies in force will provide for accident indemnity, without red
striction as to age. Even in the case of accident insurance, premiums will
not be upped because the insured is exposed to unusual hazards. The new
rates apply to all life insurance and endowment policies issued by people-
owned insurance companies since 1946. Renewal of old policies will be con
tinued at the old rates.
