Attainments in 1950
The Ukrainian SSR delivered 81 million more purls (l purl equals 16,38 Xilo-
grams) of wheat to the state in 1950 than in 1949. The sugar factories were
supplied with 34.7 million more centners of sugar beets by the republic in
1950 than in 1949. The republic met the 1950 plan for increasing the number
of cattle by 109 percent. There are now 57.3 percent more cattle on Ukrainian
kolkhoz farms than in 19409 including 27 percent more cows. The republic met
the 1950 hog-raising plan by 103.8 percent. There are now 36,9 percent more
hogs in the republic than in 1940. The 1950 plan for increasing the number
of sheep was considerably surpassed, but the 1950 poultry-raising plan was
not met.
