Taihoku. 5 June -'- Today's issue of the only English-language newspaper on
Taiwan said that. Soviet trc.p> now control the following Chinese Communist state-
operated enterprises in the Northeast the Hsiao-li-man Electric Power Plant,
which supplies power to varion; plats in the Northeast and a part of northern
Korea; the Fu-shun Co-31 Mire:, rl?.ond largest. in China. and ..he An-shan Steelworks,
the largest in the Far East

Taihoku, 28 March (Reuters -- According to a report today from the Chung-
lien She, the Chinese Communists have handed over to Moscow the full rights to a
mine at Tsingtao which had been in operation prior to the Stno-Japanese War.
The source further =*.3trd that Soviet technicians and engineers, numbering
500, have opened the mine, which is located at a certain town about 7 miles out-
side-of Tsingtao, and have also set up an arsenal to produce hand grenades, in-
fantry rifles, light machine guns, and other small arms.
SOVIET PARATROOPERS STATIONED ON C,HOU-SHAN ISLANDS -- Hong Kon.g, Kung-shang Jih-
pao, 8 Jun 51
Taihoku, 7 June ? According to an article which appeared today in the only
English-language newspaper on Taiwan, the Chou-span Islands are virtually-con-
tr'?lled by Soviet troops. The Article revealed that the Soviet Union has con-
structed a large air force base and that 126 Russian paratroopers are now sta-
tioned there.
The article further, reported that Flight Lieutenant Ha-ml-t'e-lo-fu Chi-
nese approximation of Russian name commands the paratroopers and the Chinese
Communist defense units of the Wan-shan Islands.
