INTAKE TUNNEL DUG AT UNA HYDROELECTRIC POWER PLANT -- Belgrade, Borba, 7 May 51
Sarajevo, 6 May -- Workers at the Una Hydroelectric Power Plant have dug
a 140-metr.--long intake tunnel, which is now being widened, and work will soon
begin on pouring concrete.
Work has also begun on the machine shop, water chambers, and installations
on the entrance reservoir.
Piers for the bridge across the Una have been set up, and apartment houses
and several kilometers of roads are being built.
65-TON CRANE INSTALLED IN VINODOL PLANT -- Belgrade, Borba, 12 May 51
Rijeka, 11 May -- A 65-ton crane, built by the Litostroj (Machine Cast-
ing) factory, has been installed in the underground power plant of the Vinodol
Hydroelectric Power Plant. The crane will be used in installing heavy parts
of the turbogenerator units, and later for assembly of installations. Since
all electrical equipment has been installed, early use of the crane will be
possible.
Preparatory work has also begun on installing turbine machinery for the
first turbogenerator unit, which will have an output of 35,000 kilovolt-amperes.
TO ENLARGE "BADE KONCAR" FACTORY -- Ljubljana, Slovenski Porocevalec, 19 Apr 51
Over 100 million dinars are to be invested in enlarging the "Rade Koncar"
Factory in Zagreb in 1951. Construction has already begun on a new shop 190
meters long and 36 meters wide.
This year's construction program also calls for laying concrete on the
foundation for heavy machine installations in "D" shop, building an industrial
railroad, and constructing housing for workers.
