INITIATE INNOVATIONS IN CLASSIFICATION YARDS
Significant progress has been made in the past few months in improving
railroad transportation in Yugoslavia. In early June 1951, fast trains fol-
lowing the shortest routes and having the right of way, called "Dencari"

EQUI PLAN FULFILLS
Sarajevo, 24 June -- The Railroad Equipment Factory in Sarajevo is the
only one of its kind in Bosnia -Herzegovina. It produces spikes for railroad
tracks, drills, rivets for steam boilers and steel bridges, various finished
products from metal and wood, assembles and repairs railroad car scales and
other railroad equipment, etc.
The factory fulfilled its 6-month plan 15 days ahead of schedule. produc-
tion quality was improved 6.2 percent over 1950, while considerable savings
were made in raw and operational materials.

At the end of July the "Industriaa Motors" (Motor Industry) Enterprise in
Rakovica will deliver about 120 new tractors of the Zadrugar and Ansaldohtypes
to farm work cooperatives and state farms. In the first half of 1951, t
organizations received over 400 such tractors in all republics except Slovenia.
Beginning with August an average of 60 Zadrugar tractors will be produced
every month. A large number of letters from users of this tractor indicate
that it is completely satisfactory.

MARIBOR AUTOMOBILE FACTORY MANUFACTURES NEW PRODUCTS -- Zagreb, Borba,
10 Jul 51
Maribor, 9 July -- The automobile factory in Maribor has recently begun
producing connecting rods, which previously had to be imported. By the end of
1951 the factory will be producing about 13 other new parts for the "Pionir"
truck. In the fall the factory's blacksmith shop will begin producing a great
number of new truck parts, which it has recently learned to make.
The factory is also preparing for serial production of the new "Luka"
truck.
FIRST FULLY MECHANIZED MILL BEGINS OPERATION -- Ljubljana, Slovenski Poroceva-
lec, 11 Jul 51
The first completely mechanized mill in Yugoslavia began operation on
9 July in Vrhnika. The former mill ground 4,000 kilograms of wheat -daily; the
new mill will grind 16,000 kilograms daily with the same i;npower.
