THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION ARMY OFFICERS ACTIVE IN FRONT ORGANIZATIONS, STUDENT PILOTS TO COMPLETE TRAINING In May 1951 at a meeting of a unit under the command of Lt Col Petar Solomun, it was established that the unit officers and noncommissioned officers had slackened their work with front organizations. The*eason given was that a considerable number of officers had just graduated from schools and academes and had not immediately joined front organizations, according to the custom of this unit. Following the meeting, a conference was held with all officers. Later, at meetings of basic party organizations, work with the People's Front organizations and the Savez Boraca (Association of Fighters LVeterans!)was dis- cussed. A few days after these meetings all officers and noncommissioned officers joined the front organizations where they live and began cooperating with them. In the 2 months following, the unit gave 40 different lectures to People's Front organizations and the Association of Fighters. Especially active were Capt Vlado Jagodic, who gave seven lectures, and Capt Slavko Corluka, who gave two demonstrations with the help of his unit and the People's Front organization. Captain Corluka was selected as delegate to the city conference of the People's Front. 1st It Rudolf Mrkic gave 14 lectures to the PAZ (antiaircraft defense). Zastavnik Dragan Milinkovic has given nine lectures in the past 2 months. Skoplje, 30 June -- Units of the Skoplje Military Oblast and the Metohija Military Oblast will participate in e. march on the Kosovo Plain and re-enact the battle of Kosovo. This is the first large activity organized by members of the Skoplje Military Oblast; it is to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the people's uprising. units commanded by Col Nile Uzelac and Col Irdize Cejvan have thus far contributed 94,000 work hours. They worked on 20 farm work coopera`ves in Donji Miholjac, Valpovo, Nasice, Beli Manastir, and Osijek Srezes, on the state farm in belje, and on other state f rms and farms. Colonel Markovic, Major Smitran, and Major Puac. Soldiers of the labor unit of the "Simo Solaja" Military Construction Enter- prise contributed many volunteer work hours in Bugojno to repairing streets, building parks, reforestation, cutting grass, and building a football field and moving-picture theater. During their free time, the unit plastered 700 square meters of wall area in the theater, helped in masonry work, roofing, etc. Fighters of the Presernova Brigade will meet in Strazisce near Kranj on 22 July. They will hold a Partisan's meeting to celebrate the eighth anniversary of their founding. Their first commanding officer, Col Rudolf Brlbernik-Svarun, will speak at the meeting. PILOTS TO TRAIN AT SCHOOL AT RUMA --? Split, Slobodna Dalmacija, 9 Jul 51 All student pilots of the Federal Pilots' School are requested to submit their correct home addresses by 15 July, because of a pending summons to complete the second phase of their training in the pilots' school at Rums. The request applies only to student pilots who have not completed the second phase of their training and are not scheduled to complete it in any of the repub- lic pilot schools in 1951. Upon reporting, student pilots are to bring the most recent references from the enterprise or organization with which they are connected. ANTIAIRCRAFT ARTILLERY SCHOOL HOLDS GRADUATION -- Zagreb, Vjesnik, 13 Jul 51 Another class of candidates for .active antiaircraft artillery officers has completed schooling. In the examinations, 17 students were excellent, 47 were very good, and 39 good. OVER 1,700 PERSONS TRAINED IN ANTIAIRCRAFT DEFENSE -- Zagreb, Borba, 1 Jul 51 Osijek, June -- Forty-three courses in antiaircraft defense ar- being com- pleted in Osijek. In 25 of the courses, 1,760 persons were trairid for home defense. 'About 600 other persons, employed in industrial enterprises, were trained for chemical and sanitation aspects of antiaircraft defense. New courses have begun in eight enterprises.
