YUGOSLAVIA EXPAliJS HEAVY INDUSTRY; BULGARIA RECEIVES SOVIET EQUIPMENT "FRANC LESKOSE)e FACTORY BUILDS 150-TON CRANE -- Ljubljana, Slovenski Porocevelec 20 Jul 51 A 150-ton crane built, by the "Franc Leskosek" Factory for the Vuzenica Hydroelectric Power Plant, is being tested. This is the largest crane ever built in Yugoslavia. The whole crane installation weighs more than 280 tone. The crane was designed by Franc Kovacec, prof.ssor in the advanced tech- nical school in Ljubljana, and the parts were built by the "Litrostroj'l Factory. The "Franc Leskosek" Factory is to build seven large cranes of varying capacities for hydroelectric plants in Yugoslavia. PRODUCE CLAY CRU:IBLES FOR CASTING PRECIOUS METALS -- Zagreb, Borba, 1 Jul 51 The.copper fo'mdry in Bor recently produced the first series of 60 clay crucibles for casting precious metals. The first tests have shown that. these crubibles are satisfactori7v resistant to high temperatures. Such crucibles were previously imported; the Bor Foundry will henceforth be able to satisfy its needs for this pr...'.uct. Jovan Markovic and Dusan Nicic designed the special machtne needed for the production of these: crucibles. FOURTH NEW FURNACE PUT IN OPERATION IN IDRIJA REFINERY -- Zagreb, Borba 22 Jul 51 Ljubljana, 21 July -- The mercury refinery at the Idrija mine has put in operation a fourth modern gas-operated furnace. BUILD STEEL MILL IN SISAK -- Ljubljana, Slovenaki Porocevalec, 15 Jul 51 In June, work began on the construction of n new steel mill at the Sisak Ironworks. The first steel ccnstructions have teen finished for the new mill, which is to be almost as large as the Zenica Steel Mill. The first furnaces will be in operation in 1912. The new mill will supply steel to the. seamless-pipe rolling mill fin Sisak. RECEIVE ROLLING MILL EQUIPMENT IN ZENICA -- Zagreb, Borba, 2 Jul 51 Zenica, 1 July -- The last equipment for the rolling mill in Zenica has arrived at the buildinL; site, and preparations are being made for its assembly. This rolling mill will have an output twice as large an any other rolling mill .in Yugoslavia. The mill is expected to be completed in 1952. DELIIER MACHINERY FOR PLANTS -- Sofia, Otechestven Front, 1 Aug 51 Burgas, 31 July -- Recently, the Bulgarian freighter Khristo Smirnenski arrived in. Burgas Harbor. The ship carried excavators, boilers, large bridge ftraveli ;-?7 cranes, and other machinery from the USSR. These are being unloaded and shipped to the "Stalin" Nitrogen Fertilizer Plant and the "Maritsa III" Steam-Electric Power Plant in Dimitrovgrad.
