Over 700 medical students and over 400 dental students in Bulgaria
graduated this year from medical and dental schools respectively and are
interning. Over 160 midwives, over 300 nurses, and 150 laboratory techni.
cians graduated from intermediate medical schools. Over 400 surgeon's
assistants, 400 midwives, over 1,000 nurses, and over 200 laboratory techni.
cians enrolled this fall in intermediate medical schools. The first Bulgar-
ian school of pharmacy for assistant pharmacists and a dental school have
been opened this year.
By the end of the third quarter of 1951, over 100 physicians had taken
specialization courses and 350 had taken intensive training courses at the
Icatitute for Medical Specialization and Intensive Training.
MORE PERSONS TO BE TREATED IN SPNATORIA -- Vecherni Novini, 26 Sep 51
By the end of 1951, as many as 22,500 workers will be treated in Bulgar-
ian balneological sanatoria. About 144,679 persons will be treated and sent
to rest homes through the "Otdikh i Kultura" (Rest and Culture) fund. The
Ministry of National Education will provide the means for the treatment and
rest of 110,000 youths, while other organizations will provide treatment and
rest for 27,051 persons. A total of 304,230 persons will be treated and sent
to rest bnmes during 1951.
