TALZHIK SSR FAILS TO MEET THIRr QUARTER 1951 PLAN
The Statistics Administration Tadzhik SSE reports that Tadzhik industry
fulfilled the third-quarter gross-production plan 98 percent. In the third
quarter 1951, gross production increased 14 percent over the third quarter
1950. Individual ministries, organizations, and enterprises fulfilled the

The following ministries failed to meet the third-quarter 1951 plan for
quantitative production of chief types of goods: Ministry of Light Industry --
raw silk, cotton yarn, silk fabrics, hosiery, knit underwear, hard and chrome
leather goods, Moscow Jeather, and footwear; Ministry of Meat and Dairy Indus-
try -- meat, butter, and sour milk products; Ministry of Food Industry -- flour,
rice, dried fruits. nonalcoholic bpvArreea, and bott'A^: 6IA+n Administration
of Cons*.ruction Materials Industry -- lime and unfired brick; Ministry
of Local Industry -- coal mining, brick, roofing tile, lime, aluminumware, cotton
fabrics, footwear and other lea1.ie goons, - .and carts; ioazh1k?
Council of Industrial Cooperatives -- brick, lime. hard and soft leather goods,
footwear, especially children's, aluminumware, salt mining, fish catch, carts
and other vehicles, and furniture; Union of Invalids' Cooperatives -- footwear.
Kolkhozes, sovkhozes, and MTS of the republic have begun mass cotton pick-
ing; machines are used on a larger scale than last year. Harvesting of jute
has improved considerably over 1950.
Kolkhozes, MTS, and solkhozes are finishing harvesting of grain crops.
Harvesting combines were used 26 percent more in 1951 than last year. The
state plan for grain procurement was completed ahead of time.
MTS completed 16 percent more tractor work by 20 October 1951 than by
the same time last year.
The third-quarter 1951 plan for retail commodity urnover and for turnover in
public eating enterprises of the Tadzhik SSR way, iuifilled 95 percent, includ-
ing 0,4 percent for turnover in the retail trade network and 106 percent for
turnover in public eating enterprises.
