The following reports were compiled by the State Hydrological
and Meteorological Institute, Krakow. All temperatures are in
centigrade.
27 November _
Variable cloudiness, increasing occasionally with possible light rain.
Highest temperature during the day 8 degrees with might frost during the
night. Temperature range high in the mountains, from -7 to -13 degrees.
Moderate and strong northerly and northwesterly winds.
Generally cloudy with rain. Snow high in the mountains. Highest tem-
perature during the day, 10 degrees; during the night, around zero. Contin-
ued temperature below zero high in the mountains. Moderate westerly winds.
Cloudy and increasingly clear. In the evening considerable intermittent
cloudiness, with sleet; in the mountains, snow. Cooler. Temperature during
the day, near 6 degrees; during the night, very light frost. Temperature in
the mountains, from zero to -5 degrees. Prevailing moderate and strong west-
erly winds.
Variable cloudiness changing to mostly -leer. Highest temperature during
the day, 5 degrees; during the night, arou-' zero. Temperature high in the
mountains, from -6 to 12 degrees. Moderate westerly winds.

Considerable cloudiness with rain or sleet. Possible clearing locally
in the western part of the corntry. Temperature range during the day, from
5 to 9 degrees; during the night, around zero with light frost locally.
Quite fair during the night, followed by cloudiness during the day,
clearing somewhat locally. Highest temperature during the day, 10 legrees.
Temperature during the night, from zero to 3 degrees. Temperature in the
mountains, from -3 to 2 legrees. Prevailing moderate westerly winds, with
strong westerly winds in the mountains. 2ycie Aarezawy on 5 December 1951
reported that on 2 December a gale swept over arsaw. The wind velocity
reached 30-40 kilometers per hour with sudden sporadic gusts of 60-70 kilo-
meters -3r hour.-7

sudden gusts.

5 degrees during the day to around zero during the night and from -4 to -8
degrees high in the mountains. Light westerly winds.
Cloudy and foggy with rain or sleet. Temperature range from 4 to 8
degree. during the. day to around zero dur.:ig the night with frost locally.
Temperature high in the mountains, from -5 to -10 degrees. Moderate and
strong westerly and southwesterly winds.
Cloudy and foggy during the morning with a chance of some clear weather
locally. Increasing cloudiness during the later hours followed by rain and
becoming cooler. Temperature during the day will reach 8 degrees; during the
night, around zero. Temperature in the mountains from -2 to -8 degrees.

Generally considerable cloudiness followed by rain. Temperature during
the day, around 6 degrees; during the night, around zero. Moderate westerly
winds, occasionally strong with sudden gusts.
Cloudy, gradually clearing. In the mountains continued light snow.
Temperature range from 5 to -3 degrees. Temperature range high in the moun-
tains, from -2 to -8 degrees. Light westerly and northwesterly winds with
occasional sudden gusts.

tains, from -8 to -15 degrees. Light and moderate westerly and northwesterly
winds.

frost. Light southwesterly winds.
Haze in the morning; fair during the day, with gradually increasing
cloudiness. Temperature during the day, 5 degrees; during the night, -5
degrees. Temperature range high in the mountains, from 2 to -5 degrees.
Light westerly winds, foehn in the mountains.
Fog and haze, especially at night and in the morning. Fair with occa-
sionally increasing cloudiness. Temperature range during the day, from zero
to 6 degrees; frost during the night and temperature -5 degrees. In Podhale,
the temperature will reach -9 degrees. Inversion of temperature gradient high
