Before 9 September 1944, he participated fbrthe struggle against the Germans and was in char 3e of the First Bulgarian Army, which was attached to the Third Ukraine ront, led by Marshal of the Soviet' Union Tolbukhin. Immediately after 9 September 1944, Stoychev became chairman of the newly created Central Council for Physical Culture and Sport, which was superseded by the Supreme Committee for Physical Culture and Sport in 1948. He was given the honorary title "Zasiuzhil maystor na ments ments in this field f Sport) for his achieve- YOUTH IN AVIATION -- Sofia, Vecherni Novini, 29 Dec 51 The aviation club of DOSO (Voluntary Organization for Assistance to Defense) in Sofia gives theoretical and practical instruction in aviation. The club trains Young people to become pilots, glider pilots, parachutists, model-aircraft builders, aircraft technicians, and aircraft radio operators. Lectures at the club are given by aviation specialists. The club has a laboratory for building model aircraft and a chamber with training equipment. Workers and students specialize in one of the above fields without neglect- ing their regular work or studies. Marlya Krusteva, a worker, made 15 parachute jumps with parachutes that open automatically and four jumps with chutes that have to be released manually. She is now a parachute-jumping instructor. Vasil Topuzov, a student, completed over 20 jumps with chutes that have to be released manually.
