An announcement, dated 17 November 1951, states that the Ministry of Trans-
portation has moved from 1, Niederkirchner Str. to the new administration build-
ing at 4243, Tauben Str., Berlin W 8,
LAY SECOND RAILROAD TRACE -- Plauen, Freie Presse, 22 Oct 51
The second track of the 30-kilometers-long Aue-Schwarzenberg-Johangeorgen-
etadt Line has been completed. A 230-meter tunnel, 19 steel bridges, and 11
arch bridges with a span width of 20 meters had to be built along this line.
RAILROAD WORIERS SAVE COAL -- Berlin, Taegliche Rundschau, 4 Oct 51
The railroad workers of the locomotive service of the Reichebahn Direc-
torate Erfurt saved more than 16,000 tons of brown-coal briquettes in the
first 8 months of 1951. They thus contributed toward the goal of reducing
coal consumption by 16 percent during the Five-Year Plan.
REICHSBAHN SETS DAILY FREIGHT RECORD -- Berlin, Taegliche Rundschau, 21 Oct 51
On 18 October 1951 the Reichsbahn handled 28,470 railroad care of freight,
the highest daily total since 1945.
