NEW DAM TO INCREASE ZWICKAU WATER SUFFIX -- Plauen, Preis Presse, 12 Sep 51
A new dam is under construction in the Crinitz Valley between Wolfersgruen
and Cuneradorf, and an auxiliary dam is being built near Wolfersgruen. The
purpose of these installations is to supply Zwickau with water. Upon comple-
tion, the main dam will have a storage capacity of 2.5 million cubic meters of
water, and the capacity of the auxiliary dam will be 420,000 cubic meters.
TO IMPROVE WATER SUPPLY OF NIEDERLAUSITZ COAL REGION -- Berlin, Taeglich Rund-

In Kreis Senftenberg a large-scale program has been started to improve
the water supply in 138 communities of the Niederlaueitz brown coal region.
The USSR is to supply water pipes for this project. The first shipment,
consisting of 12 carloads, has already arrived.
