THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION ANNOUNCE PROVISIONS OF CZECHOSLOVAK CLOTHING RATION BOOKS FOR 1952 The Ministry of Domestic Trade announces that the following ration books and coupons will be issued for purchase of clothing in 1952: 1. Worker's ration book, containing '20 points and ten special coupons marked with Roman numerals 2. Basic ration book, containing 100 points and ten special coupons. marked with Roman numerals 3. Maternity ration book, containing 100 points and two special coupons marked M 1 and M 2 k. Infant's ration book, containing 250 points, six special coupoL, marked with Roman numerals, and three additional, marked Lsl, Lz2, and Lz3, for bedding. Woolen yardgoods may not be purchased on this ration book. 5. Ration books for newlyweds, containing 520 points, specially marked for certain types of bedding. Points marked with a period are good only for purchases of sheeting, those marked with a triangle only for covers, and those marked with a rectangle only for ticking. All points in this ration book, how- ever, may be used to purchase quilted or down covers. The following points and coupons will become valid for use as of 1 Janu- ary 1952: a. 30 points of the worker's ration book, marked A, B, and C b. 25 points of the basic ration book, marked A, B, and C c. Coupons I, II, III, and IV of the infant's ration book which en- title the bearer to purchase diapers. Eight diapers of any grade may be purchased for each coupon, provided the corresponding number -f points are surrendered. All points of the infant's and maternity ration books and the ration oooks'for newlyweds. The latter is, however, good only for 3 months from the date of issue. b. Coupons Lzl, Lz2, and L73 of the infant's ration book. Only the particular type of bedding listed on the cot -ms, and of the indicated point value, may be purchased. The coupon gives the consumer the right to purchase without surrendering any points. dates on which further coupons and points will come into use are to be announced later. lha clothing ration books are not transferable, but pur- chases may be made on more than one book belonging to the same family. No replacements will be issued for books stolen, lost, or damaged. On 31 December 1951, all purchasing documents for textiles and shoes issued during 1951 become invalid, with the following exceptions: maternity and infant's ration books, which remain valid until 31 March 1952; ration books for newlyweds, which remain valid for 3 months after the date of issue; certificates issued by the URO (Ustredni Rada Odboru, Central Trade-Union Council) for all grades of work clothes, which remain valid until 29 January 1952; certificates issued by the Ministry of Agriculture for rubber coats, which remain valid until 28 January 1952: and all "V" and "L" point.. - 2 - RESTRICTED STAT M.
