struction of the Main Turkmen Canal are being shipped via the Chardzhou-
Urgench railroad line. Th.- line is being operated by the Department for the
Temporary Operation of the Chardzhou-Urgench Railroad Line.
TRACKS LINK URGENCH AND TAKBIA TASH -- Moscow, Komscmol'skaya Pravda,

The.main line from Urgench to Takhia Tash, 122 kilometers long, has been
completed. Takhia Tash is the center of activities for the construction of
the Main Turkmen Canal.
Diesel locomotives are operating on the Urgench-Takhia lash line. Sid-
ings to the construction site are being laid.
FEDOROVKA-KACROVKA LINE COMPLETED -- Moscow, Komsemol'skaya Pravda, 9 Feb 52
On 8 February 1952, the Southern Railr-ad System's Administration for
Construction and Reconstruction concluded th- tracklaying work on the line
from Fedorovka to Kakhovka. The first train with freight for the construction
of the Kakhovka GES will leave Fedorovka on 9 February 1952.
The Fedorovka-Kakhovka line will be opened to regular passenger sarvicei
in the near future.
TRAFFIC TO KUYBYSHEV EYDROFLECTRIC CENTER INCREASES -- Kishinev, Sovetskaya

The flow of freight along the new railroad lines running to the Volga
construction,project at Zhiguli is incr;-sing. From Syzran', freight trains
are running to the right-bank construction area, where the gigantic founda-
tion pit for the hydroelectric station is being excavated. Along the left
bank, branch trains are running from Kuybyshev to the new city of Komsomol'sk,
where the coffer dam for the lower lock is being built.
During the past 3 days, hundreds of carloads of wood, brick, iron, pre-
fabricated houses, coal, bi`umen, and other construction materials have
arrived, along with new trucks, machinery, excavators, buses, cranes, trac-
tors, concrete mixers, and transformers.

tion only 2 months ago.
Along the 100-kilometer-long right-bank line, put into operation last
summer, freight hauling is being increased. Now, there is also regular pas-
senger service along this line.
MOROZOVSKAYA-KUBERLE LINE REBUILT -- Moscow, Gudok, 5 Jan 52

RIGA-ERGLI TRAFFIC RESTORED -- Riga, Sovetskaya Latviya, 15 Feb 52
On 14 February 1952, the first Passenger train left Riga for Ergli, via
the restored track. Regular traffic between Riga and Taurupe has been running
for some time. The track from Taurupe to Ergli was recently restored.
