A new wood-processing machine has been turned out by the Czechoslovak
machine-building Snduetry, for which a potent has been granted, This is an
automatlc machine, producing excelsior from waste wood in a four-s+,age opera-
tion, in the course of which the curled shreds of wood are shaped into pack-
ing bales by a power press. Also, three types of special woodworking machines
have been put on the market. These machines do dovetailing ao3 doweling work.
The dovetailing machines arc horizontal or upright machines working semiauto-
matically, p highspeed cutter blade cute perfectly matching notches (dove-
tails) into the wood panel. Another machine, known as the Stavil machine,
does doweling work. Fcurttea drills bore dowel holes simultaneously at pre-

Cnera*ica cP the mixer is reported to be cer^,~ silent.
A 65-liter-capacity mixer of this design can be produced is one third

A Soviet-made, self-propelled excavator has been delie?ered to the
Lezaky mine near Moat, in the Sorth Bohemian brorrn_coal region. Prior
to assembly, components of this machine take up 13 flatcars. The machine,
unlike others of its kind, automatically separates coal from earth es it
excavates, end disposes of the earth, thus facilitating continuous opera-
tion. During an 8-hour shift, it can excavate and move 1, Soo cubic meters
of earth. Two additional excavators are planned for delivery during the
first half of 1952.
