Implementing Resolution No 1,027 of 26 August 1951 of the Council if Minis.
ters, the Ministry of Agriculture has slued Decree No 3, dated_114anuary 1952,
in accordance with which all agricultural producers are required to produce potatoes
during the'1951 - 1952 agricultural year.
The quantity of potatoes to be produced, as wall as the area to be devoted
to potato production, *is listed separately for each megye in the national plant-
ing plan. These quotas are distributed to the various jerasok and towns by the
megye council concerned.
Individual producers may be required to plant potatoes, on. the basis of
arable land under cultivation, as follows:

On the basis of the above table, the town council will establish a poL. o-
production quota for each individual producer. The individual quotas-must be es-
tablished with a view to fulfilling the over-all potato-production plan of the
town concerned.
Independent ppo84cers, producers, cooperatives, and state farms are required
to devote 10, 15, and 25 Perce:it respectively of their potato fields to the pro-
duction of seed potatoes and to provide 12 quintals of seed potatoes for each
cadastral yoke to be planted in potatoes.

HESMCM
Industrial potatoes, not to exceed 50 percent of the total area planted in
potatoes, must be grown in all towns within a radius of 15 - 20 kilometers of
potato processing industrial plants. The area to be planted in edible and in-
dustrial potatoes, respectively, must be reported by all. individual producers to
the town council not later than 25 January 1952.
Indoyenieut producers who violate thq foregoing'regulations are subject to
one month's im isonment and a fine of 2,000 forints.
