Moscow, Trud, 30 Mar 52 The Riga VEF Plant has completed ahead of schedule an 800-line automatic telephone exchange for the Main Turkmen Canal project. It will also ship 600 telephone sets to the same project. The plant is now building a 320-line telephone exchange for the Kuybyshev GES project. In 1952, it has already shipped to the construction projects 20 auto- matic and manual telephone exchanges and about 1,500 telephone sets. ECONOMY DRIVE SAVES 500,000 RUBLES -- Moscow, Trud, 19 Apr 52 Fifty brigades of the Molotov Telephone Plant have saved more than 500,000 rubles in 3 months of competition to save raw material, electric power, and steam. BUILD POWER PLANTS FOR RURAL RADIO EQUIPMENT -- Kiev, Pravda Ukrainy, 28 Feb 52 The Ural Electrical Machinery Plant, Molotov Oblast, is manufacturing wind-driven generators for radio equipment on kolkhozes and timber managements. INSTALL BATPERT RADIO UNITS -- Moscow, Vechernyaya Moskva, 10 Apr 52 The Volna Kolkhoz,Kalevely Rayon, Karelo-Finnish SSR, has installed a KRU-2 radio set which ,,perates on battery current supplied by a wind-driven generator. The KRU-2 radio is especially m, -a for kolkhozes. In 1952, the republic will send more than 30 KRU-2 sets to kolkhozes. The Riga VEF Plant has built several experimental models of the 13-tube M-152 radio receiver. The set has six frequency ranges, four of them short wave. It is equipped with two dynamic loud-speakers and a device for noiseless tuning. The plant will organize series production of the new radio receivers in the second half of 1952. The Riga Electrical Fittings Plant has organized the production of a new radio loud-speaker. BUILD ANTENNAS SERVING MANY RECEIVERS -- Petrozavodsk, Leninakoye Znamya, 26 Apr 52 The installation of radio communication facilities in the new Moscow buildings is being directed by the Scientific Research Institute of Radio Broadcasting Reception and Acoustics. A new type of antenna has been built for collective radio reception, serving 200 radio receivers. Compact in construction, it eliminates industrial interference, such as noises and electrical discharges, which creates static on radios using an ordinary antenna. The first collective antenna has been built for a new building of the Moscow State University imeni M. V. Lomonosov.
