THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
The following list of cargo rates from Poland to China are published
5n Berli7 to give exporters in the German Democratic Republic a basis for
calculating their cif shipments to China. The rates are valid for shipments
from Gdansk, Gdynia, and Szczecin to the main ports of China. Although the
rates of the East Asia Conference no further identification give have been
adopted, it must be pointed out that the conference cannot offer any oppor-
tunities for shipment at.present. .Loading opportunities at the above-men-
t,oned, ports are available only through Polish state-owned shipping facilities.
The rates are in English shillings per 1,000 kilograms with a 1- percent
deduction, or per cubic meter without deduction, depending on the ship. Con-
tracting parties belonging to the conference receive a 94 percent rate deduc-
tion.
All rates are subject to a surcharge of 10/-less 11 percent per 1,000
kilograms or 9/- per cubic meter, depending on the ship.
An additional heavy-weight rate is charged for units heavier than 2,000
kilograms and the same is true for lengths over 9.20 meters.
