PRODUCTIOA OF NEW FERTILIZERS Ip KF.DZIERZYR
In 1953, installations oP several divisions of a large modern altrate fer-
tilizer Factory -- one of three sections of the large chemical combine, Zaklagy.
Przemslu Azotoxcgo v Kedzierzynie (Kedzierzyn Nitrogen Plants) -- vill be rencly
for a teat operation. A fev months later, the factory will produce the first
lot of high-grade artificial fertilizers,
Construction is moat advanced in the generator division oP the factory,
Water gas, the basic rev material for the production of nitrate ?ertilizera, vill
be produced here.
89uipmeat and apparatus Prom the USSR, the German Democratic Republic, sad
Czechoslovakia are being installed in other divisions, including the flxation,
deeu]i'urizing, and processing divisions, of the factory.
As the time drava nearer for the activation oP the factories in Kedzierzyn,
the crew and the techaiciane are faced not only vith problems connected vith
the final phase of construction and erection of machines and equlpmeat, but also
vith problems connected with the complicated processes of manufacturing various
kinds of fertilizers: These factories in Kedzierzyn will produce fertilizers,
1ne1uding aev kinds theretofore not produced adapted to the needs and require-
meate of agriculture.
"Saletrzak", s mixture of ammonium nitrate and calcium carbonate, vill be
produced is granular form, thereby making it much easier to use than ordinary
"ealetizsk," The granular "saletrzak" comes is granules oP several millimeters
is size, covered vit' Lime or chalk poxder to prevent lumping during storage.
For the first time in Poland, the Zaklady Przemyalu Azotovego x Kedzierzy-
nie will begin pror:?tion of granular ammonium nitrate based on the experience
and standards of the USSR. This high-nitrogen-content fertilizer vill be an Sm-
portaat Factor in increasing the yield from the 3oi1.
