Yesterday's temperatures in Leningrad were 20 degrees above zero during
the morning, 18 degrees during the day.(l)
This morning, slightly cloudy, warm weather prevailed in most of the Euro-
pean USSR; however, cloudy weather with light rains and local thunderstorms oc-
curred in Murmanskaya, Arkhangel'skaya, Velikolukskaya, and Kalininskaya ob-
lasts, northern Komi ASSR, and the southern Ukraine.
Last night's lowest temperature in Moscow was 19 degrees above zero; it
was 24 degrees at noon today.(2)
Yesterday during the day, rains fell and comparatively cool weather pre-
vailed in Polotskaya, Molodechnenskaya, Baranovichskaya, and Pinskaya oblasts,
and in eastern,Brestskaya and western Mins1Faya oblasts. Warm, dry weather pre-
vailed in the rest of the republic. Temperatures at 1500 hours were 14 degrees
in Vileyka, 16 in Baranovichi, 18 in Minsk and Pinsk, 21 in Polotsk, 23 in
Grodno, 24 in Brest and Vitebsk, 26 in Bobruysk and Mogilev, and 27 in Gomel'

Yesterday during the day, cloudy with clearing weather prevailed in Belo-
russia, Showers with thunderstorms occurred locally in the southeastern part
of the republic. Temperatures during the day were 18 degrees in Polotsk, 19 in
Minsk, 22 in Pinsk, 23 in Lel'chitsy, 24 in Grodno, 25 in Gomel' and Brest,
26 in Mogilev, and 27 in Vasilevichi.(3)

Yesterday's temperatures in Leningrad were 18 degrees above zero during

During the past 24 hours, showers with thunderstorms were recorded in the
eastern half of Belorussia. Yesterday during the day, temperatures were 16 de-
grees in Polotsk, 18 in Vitebsk, 20 in Minsk, 24 in Gomel', Grodno, and Pinsk,

This morning, warm weather prevailed in European USSR. Cloudy weather
with rain was recorded in Kirovskaya, Molotovskaya, and Saratovskaya oblasts.
Rains of a thunderstorm-like nature fell locally in the Caucasus and in Lenin-
gradskaya and Rostovksaya oblasts.
Temperatures at 0900 hours this morning were 10 degrees above zero in Mur-
mansk, 16 in Gor'kiy and Kirov, 17 in Kazan', 18 in Minsk, 19 in Smolensk, 20
in Lvov, Leningrad, Kuybyshev, and Vologda, 21 in Rostov, Kiev, Petrozavodsk,
Molotov, Kharkov, Orel, and Arkhangel'ek, 27 in Sochi, 28 in Yalta, and 30 in
Astrakhan'.
Last night's lowest temperature in Moscow was 13 degrees above zero; it
was 24 degrees at noon today.(2)

This morning, warm slightly cloudy weather prevailed in most of the Euro-
pean USSR. Cloudy weather with rain was recorded in Arkhangel'skaya Oblast,
Kola Peninsula, and the Karelo-Finnish SSR. Light rains and thunderstorms were
recorded locally in the Baltic republics and Leningradskaya Oblast. Warm, cloudy
weather with local showers and thunderstorms was observed in the Northern
Caucasus.
Last night's lowest temperature in Moscow was 16 degrees above zero; it
was 27 degrees at noon today.(2)
During the past 24 hours, dry, hot weather prevailed in Belorussia. Yes-
terday during the day, temperaturez were 26 degrees in Polotsk and Vitebsk,

Yesterday during the day, hot, dry weather prevailed in Belorussia. Tem-
peratures at 1500 hours were 23 degrees in Grodno, 26 in Brest, 27 in Pinsk and
Beranovichi, 29 in Minsk, and 30 in Bobruysk, Mogilev, and Mozyr'.(3)
11 August
Cool weather with rain prevailed this morniar in the Karel9-ninnish SSR,
Kola Peninsula, Arkhangel'skaya Oblast, and Komi ASSR. Rains also fell locally
in Belorussia and the.western Ukraine. For the most part, slightly cloudy
weather without precipitation prevailed in the central regions of the European
USSR, eastern Ukraine, and the Crimea. It was very warm in the southeastern
European USSR and the Urals.

This morning, very warm weather prevailed in southwestern portion of the
European USSR, the Caucasus, and the Crimea. It was cool in northern and
western European USSR and in the Ukraine. Rain was recorded In the western and
southern portions of the central European USSR, in Arkhangel'skaya, Novgorod-
okays, Pskovskaya, and Leningradskaya oblasts, and in Komi ASSR.
Temperatures at 0900 hours were 9 degrees in Syktyvkar, 11 in Arkhangelsk
and Murmansk, 13 in Leningrad and Vologda, 14 in Smolensk and Minsk, 15 in Riga,
16 in L'vov and Kirov, 17 in Voronezh, 18 in Kaliningrad and Kharkov, 19 in
Oor'kiy and Molotov, 20 in Rostov, 21 in Stalingrad, 24 in Kuybyshev, 26 in
Sochi, 27 in Yalta and Astrakhan', and 28 in Chkalov.

Kcmi ASSR, and northern Kirovskaya and Molotovskava oblasta. Rain fell in

locally in the central regions of the European USSR. Warm slightly cloudy
weather was recorded in the Ukraine, the Crimea, the Caucasus, and the extreme
southeastern regions of the European USSR.

of the European USSR. The weather was overcast and rainy in the BE.ltic repub-
lics, the western and central regions of the European USSR, Chuvashkaya ASSR,
and U1'Yanovskaya and Nuybysbavekaya oblate. Showers and thunderstorms were
recorded locally in Belorussia and the western Ukraine.

This morning, cool weather prevailed in moat of the European USSR. It was warm
only in the Ukraine, the Crimea, the Caucasus, and the Caspian region. Over-
cast, rainy weather was recorded in Komi ASSR, Belorussia, and Smolenskaya,
Tul'ekaya, and Bryanskaya oblasts. Showers were recorded locally in the Baltic
republics and Kirovskaya and Molotovskayn oblaste.
Temperatures at 0900 hours this morning were 2 degrees above zero in Mur-
mansk, 9 in Syktyvkar, 10 in Salekhard, 11 in Petrozavodak, 14 in Gor'kiy, 15

thunderstorms were recorded in Leningradskaya, Pskovskaya, and Bovgorodskaya
oblasts, locally in the Ukraine, and in the eastern regions of the European
USSR. Slightly cloudy weather without precipitation prevailed in the Baltic
republics, and the western and central regions of the European USSR. The
weather was hot and dry in the Crimea, the Caucasus, and the lower Volga re-
gion.
