MODERNI20 TRANSPORT AT KOMLO MINE -- Budapest, Nepozava, 30 Jul 52
Electrification of the narrow -gauge,pa#ee'nger and freight industrial
railroad at the Komlo mine ban ben completed. This line now consists of
4,000 meters of track above.:ground and 1,500'me;ers of track under ground.
The average speed of the electric locomotive, built on Soviet pattern,
is 25 kilometers per how. The locomotive has a 41 horsepower motor capable
of hauling 100 loaded mine cars.
TRACK FOR BAUXITE NINES -- Budapest, 1Sepazava, 1 Jun 52
In the past, some of the bauxite mines had no connections to. a railroad
line, and therefere_tranaportation of bauxite was difrlcult.
Such transportation difficulti.te will be overcome by the construction of
a new railroad line between Atka and the bauxite mines located at Halimba,
Veszprem Jaras. Construction work was begun in December 1951 and since then
4?kilometers of track have been completed.
The new railroad'tine is expected to be completed by 20 August 1952.
