Ar- nouncement was also made in early February 1953 that the Canton Railway Bureau commenced operations in new quarters in Canton in late January 1953] REORGANIZATION OF HENG-YANG RAILWAY BUREAU -- Canton, Nan-fang Jih-pao, 11 Jan 53 The "ollowing public announcement was made by the Heng-yang Railway Bu- In accord with the orders of the Minist of R it a Peo- pleIs Government, this railway bureau will be- reorganizedsasfofh1 Janurary al 1953 and its functions will be taken over by the Canton Railway Bureau and the Liu- chou Railway Bureau. The Canton Railway Bureau will take over the jurisdiction of the terri- tory exte::ling north to the Ch'a-an-ling station on the Yueh-Han line, south to the Canton South station, east to the Liu-chia station on the Chekiang- Kiangsi line, and west to the Leng-shiu-t'an station on the Hsiang-Kuei line. The Canton Railway bureau will also exercise control over the following lines: the Canton--Shen-chluan line, the Nan-ch'ang--Chiu-chiang line, the Ch'uan- chiang--Kao-k'eng branch, the Hsiang -t'an branch, the Hsiang-Chiang branch, the Tzu-Hsu Branch ?ossibly Tzu-hsing--Hsu-chia-tu%7, the Pai-Yang branch, the Nan-ling branch, and the Huang-p u branch. Under the Canton Railway. Chu-thou Subbureau with jurisdiction extending north to the Chan-an- ling station, south to the Chu-thou station, and east to Ho-hsia on the Che- kiang-Kiangsi line, and over all branches within the area. 2. Heng-yang Subburean with jurisdiction extending north to the Ch'i- t'ou-ch'ung station, south to the Hsu-chia-tung station, and west to Leng- shiu-t'an station on the Hsiang-Kuei line, and over all branches in the area. 3. Canton Subbureau with jurisdiction extending north to the Ch'en-hsien and south to the Canton South station and over the Canton--Shen-ch'uan line, the Canton--San-shiu line, and other lines and branches in the area. 4. Nan-ch'ang Subbureau with jurisdiction extending east to the Liu-chia station on the Chekiang-Kiangsi line, and west to Hsin-yu station on the Che- kiang-Kiangsi line and over all other lines and branches in the area. The Liu-chou Railway Bureau will take over jurisdiction of the territory extending east to Lan-chia-ts'un on the Hsiang-Kuei line, and west to P'ing- hsiang, as well as of all lines and branches in this territory. The Canton and the Liu-chou railway bureaus will begin functioning as of 1 January 1953. The Canton Railway Bureau will temporarily use the premises of the Heng-yang Bureau and its date of change to Canton will be announced la- ter. -- Kuo Wei-ch'eng, bureau chief OLD HENG YANG BUREAU OFFICE MOVED TO CANTON -- Canton, Nan-fang Jih-pao, 3 Feb 53 The following appeared as a public notice in the above newspaper--7 Kwang-kuan(53) tzu No 27, 26 January 1953 The establishment of this office having been officially approved, a por- tion of the Heng-yang Railway Bureau which heretofore has operated at Miao-p'a, Reng-yang, Hunan, has been ordered to move to new quarters at Tung-shan in Canton, Kwangtung, and from 2 February 1953 it will function as the Canton Railway Bureau. Four subbureaus for transportation, established 1 January 1953 at Canton, Reng-yang, Chu-chou, and Nan-ch'ang, will operate under this bureau at their respective locations. Hereafter, persons having business pertaining to railway traffic are requested to deal directly with these subbureaus. In addition to notifying by letter all government agencies and others di- rectly concerned in this matter, this announcement is published herewith for the information of the public.
