HUNGARIANS MUST SURRENDNR BAR SILVER
Summarizing a decree of the Council of Ministers from Magyar Kozlony
of 10 January 1953, Nepszava reports that all persons possessing silver in
the form of blocks, bars, sheets, etc., must surrender it to one of the
stores of the Ora an Ekszer Kereskedelmi Vallalat (Clock and Jewelry Trad-
ing Enterprise).
The silver must be turned in within 8 days, and payment for it will be
made at the official rate.
In the future, only officially designated state enterprises may have
such silver in their possession.
