The following report is based on an article published in
Informativni prirucnik o Jugoslaviji, a handbook which bas been
issued irregularly in sections since late 1948 by. the?.Yigoslav
Directorate for Information]
The government of Serbia rewarded the following individuals for their
work in science:
Engr Konstantin Vasic, senior assistant in the Forestry Faculty of
the University of Belgrade, was awarded 25,000 dinars for his work on the
survey and control of the stem borer.
Dr Zivojin Tesic, part-time professor in the Agricultural Faculty of
the 'University of Belgrade, was awarded 50,000 dinars for his textbook,
Mikrobiologija sumakog zemljista (Microbiology of Forest Soil).
Dr Bogdan Solaja, professor of the Agricultural Faculty of the
Universtity of Belgrade, was awarded 50,000 dinars for his textbooks Neor nska.
hems (Inorganic Chemistry) and aka hemi a (Organic Chemistry).
Dr Svetislav Zivojinovic, part-time professor in the Forestry Faculty
in Zemun, was awarded 30,000 dinars for the best work'in popularizing science.
Dr Nikola Ruzicie, docent in the Agricultural Faulty in Zeman, was.
awarddd 20,000 dinars by the Serbian Ministry of Agriculture for a research
paper Rekonstrukeita mlina cekicaramineapolis za rascijavan,]e kukuruzovine
(The Reconstruction of the Minneapolis Rammer Mill for Shredding Cornstalks).
The Presidency of the Government of Croatia rewarded the following in-
dividuals for their work in science;
Dr Cvito Fiskovic, director of the Bureau for the Preservation of
Historic MonTaents in Split, was awarded 4-0,000 dinars for research in the
history of Yugoslav art.

Dr Stjepan Gunjaca, director of the Museum of Croatian Historic Relics
in Split, was awarded 40,000 dinars for research in Slovenian archaeology.
Aleksandar Pere, director of the Bureau for the Preservation of
Historic Monuments in Rijeka, was awarded 20,000 dinars for his successes in
the field of preservation of monuments.
Zvenko Bakovic, teacher in Donje Potstin,je was awarded 20,000 dinars by
the Presidency of the Government of Croatia for his successful work in people's
education.
The Slovenian Ministry of Science and Culture rewarded the following
individuals for their work in science:
Dr Anton Melik, professor at the University of Ljubljana, was awarded
30,000 dinars for his treatise, Planine Julijskih Alpi (Mountains of the
Julian Alps).
Dr Pavel Lunacek, professor at the Obstetrics Clinic In Ljubljana,
was awarded 3D,000 dinars for organizing the clinic.
Engr Ciril Rekar, professor at the Advanced Technical School in
Ljubljana, was awarded 30,000 dinars for organizing the Metallurgical Insti-
tute.
Engr Roman Poniz, part-time professor at the Advanced Technical
School in Ljubljana, was awarded 30,000 dinars for organizing and editing
the Elektrotehnicki vesnik (Electrotechnical Gazette).
The Slovenian Ministry of Public Health rewarded the following individuals
for their work in science:
Dr Bozidar Lavric, professor in the Medical Faculty of the Univer-
sity of Ljubljana, was awarded 10,000 dinars for organizing the Surgical
Clinic.
Dr Bogdan Brecelj, professor in the Medical Faculty of the Univer-
sity of Ljubljana, was awarded 10,000 dinars for organizing the Orthopedic
Clinic..
The Presidency of the Government of Macedonia rewarded the following
individuals for their work in science:
Engr Rudolf Golnik, director of the Tobacco Institute in Prilep,
was awarded 40,000 dinars for his scientific research in production.
Dr Gose Gavrilski, physician in Skoplje, was awarded 30,000 dinars
for his success in controlling malaria.
Engr Ruzica Glavinic, part-time professor in the Agrl:.ultural and
Forestry Faculty in Skoplje, was awarded 30,000 dinars for her scientific
work and successful teaching.
Dr Haralampije Polenakovic, part-time professor in the Philosophy
Faculty in Skoplje, was awarded 30,000 dinars for his work to Macedonian
literature.
Dimce Koco, former dean of the Philosophy Faculty in Skoplje, was
awarded 30,000 dinars for his work in Macedonian literature.

Krum Tosev, docent is the Philosophy Faculty in Ssoplje, was
awarded 30,000 dinars for his work in the Macedonian language and contributions
to teaching.
Dr Trajko Bozinovic, veterinarian in the Veterinary and Bacteriolog-
ical Bureau in Skoplje, was awarded 25,000 dinars for his work in veterinary
science.
Engr Lazar Aladzajkov, agronomist in Skoplje, was awarded 20,000
dinars for his research in gardening.
Dr Dimitrije Juzbasic, dean of the Medical Faculty in Skoplje, was
awarded 60,000 dinars for organizing the Surgical Clinic and for his work in
kidney vascularity.
Dr Marin Katalinie, professor in the Philosophy Faculty in Skoplje,
was awarded 60,000 dinars for hi: contributions to teaching.
Dr Miloje Vidakovic, professor in the Medical Faculty in Skoplje,
was awarded 40,000 dinars for his work in organizing the faculty.
Dr Aleksandar Ign,jatovski, professor in the Medical Faculty in Skopl,je,
was awarded 40,000 dinars for his work in organizing the faculty.
Engr Slavko Pop-Antovski, part-time professor in the Agricultural
and Forestry Faculty in Skoplje, was awarded 40,000 dinars for his work in
organizing the faculty.
Dr Dragoslav Mitrinovic, part-time professor in the Philosophy
Faculty in Skopl,je, was awarded 40,000 dinars for organizing the Institute
of Mathematics, for his scientific work, and for his contributions to teach-
ing.
Dr Mihai,jlo Petrusevski, part-time professor in the Philosophy
Faculty in Skopl,je, was awarded. 40,000 dinars for organizing the faculty and
seminars in classical philol^gy.
Engr Danilo Todorovic, dean of the Agricultural and Forestry Faculty
in Skopl,je, was awarded 35,000 dinars for his work in organizing the faculty.
Engr Blagoj Baskov, part-time professor in the Agricultural and
Forestry Faculty in Skoplje, was awarded 35,000 dinars for his work in organ-
izing the faculty.
Dr Zdenko Krizan, professor in the Medical Faculty in Skopl,je, was
awarded 30,000 dinars for organizing the Anatomy Institute and for successful
teaching.
Dr'Bosko Niketic, professor in the Medical Faculty in Skopl,je, was
awarded 30,000 dinars for organizing the Neuropsychiatric Clinic and Psychi-
atric Hospital Service.
Engr Ilija Mihailov, professor in the Agricultural and Forestry
Faculty in Skopl,je, was awarded 30,000 dinars for his work in organizing the
faculty and for scientific work in forestry.
Lape Ljuben, docent in the Philosophy Faculty in Skopl,je, was awarded
30,000 dinars for organizing the history seminar and for contributions to
teaching.

30,000 dinars for his creative work in bydrotechnology and water conservation.
Dr Ernest Hamersmit, professor in the Medical Faculty in Skoplje, was
awarded 25,000 dinars for organizing the De*.matolgi-e1 Clinic and for his work
in dermatological and venereological diseases.
Engr Petar Zivic, part-time professor in the Agricultural and Forestry
Faculty in Skoplje, was awarded 25,000 dinars for his work in organizing the
faculty.
Engr Milan Jekic, docent in the Agricultural and Forestry Faculty
in Skoplje, was awarded 20,000 dinars for organizing the Agrochemical Lab-
oratory.
Dr Sotir Stavridis, assistant in the Surgical Clinic in Skoplje,
was awarded 20,000 dinars for his devotion to his work.
Engr Miodrag Sibinovic, docent in the Agricultural rand Forestry]
Faculty in Skopl3e, was awarded 50,000 dinars for his scientific work,
Hidrologija ohridsko-prespanske oblasti (Hydrography of Ohrid .Prespa Oblast).
Hranislav Rusic, professor in the Philosophy Faculty in Skoplje, was
awarded 43,000 dinars for his scientific work, Narodni obtca u ohridsko-
prespanskoj oblasti (National Customs in Ohrid-Prespa Oblast).
Dr Vangel Tasic, docent in the Medical Faculty in Belgrade, was awarded
38,500 dinars for his scientific work, Ohridsko-prespanska Oblast, kl.imatske
karakteristike i klima, terapiske mogucnosti (Ohrid-Prespa Oblast, Climatic
Characteristics and Climate, Therapeutic Possibilities)..
Engr Jovan Krunic, assistant in the Technical Faculty in Belgrade,
was awarded 19,000 dinars for his scientific work, Predlozi lnvesticione
izgradnje i arhttektonsko nasledje u ohridsko -prespansko,) oblasti Proposals
for Investment Construction and the Architectonic Inheritance in Ohrtd-
Presps Oblast).
Engr Boris Cipan, director of the Bureau for the Protection of Cul-
tural and Historic Monuments in Skopl3e, was awarded 16,400 dinars for his
scientific work, Kulturno-istoriski pregled chridsko-prespan_-k oblasti do
XX veka (Cultural and Historical Survey of Ohrid-Prespa Oblast up to the 20th
Century).
Jozo Satler, official in the Committee for Tourism and. Hotels of
Macedonia in Skoplje, was awarded 10,500 dinars for his scientific work.

individuals for their work in science
Engr Miodrag Sibinovic, professor in the Agricultural and Forestry
Faculty in Skoplje, was awarded 123,500 dinars for his scientific work, Vardar
i n ov.rezim vode na skopskom profilu (The Vardar and Its Flow at the Skoplje

Engr Srboljub Vukasinovic, associate in the Scientific and Research
Pedological Institute of Serbia in Belgrade, was awarded 195,000 dinars for
the preparation of a pedological map of Ovce Polje and Kumsnovsko Polje.

The Council for Agriculture and Forestry of Montenegro rewarded the
following individuals for their work in science:
Vido Djikanovic, senior agronomist in Cetinje, was awarded 15,000
dinars for improvement of fruit growing.
Djordjije Mijuskovic, senior agronomist in the Bureau of Scientific
Research in Titograd, was awarded 10,000 dinars for improvement of fruit
growing.
Mijat Rakocevic, senior agricultural technician in Cetinje, was
awarded 6,000 dinars for improvement of fruit growing.
Radosav Jovancevic, professor in the Agricultural School in Bijelo
Polje, was awarded 6,000 dinars for improvement of fruit growing.
Milosav Bulatovic, senior agricultural technician of the Foundation
for Mechanization in Ivangrad, was awarded 4,000 dinars for improvement of
fruit growing.
