late 19 by the Yugoslav Directorate for Information
The Yugoslav civil airline, Yugoslav Air Transport (JAT, Jugoslovenski
aerotransport) had eight regular and ten seasonal flights in 1951. Five of
the regular flights were domestic and three were international.
Regular domestic flights were: the Belgrade-Zagreb-Ljubljana, Belgrade-
Sarajevo, Belgrade-Titograd, Belgrade-Skoplje, and Zagreb-Sarajevo runs.
Regular international flights were: the Belgrade-Zagreb-Frankfurt, Bel-
grade-Skoplje-Salonika-Athena, and Belgrade-Zagreb-Zurich runs.
Seas-nI domestic flights were: the Belgrade-Sarajevo-Split, Belgrade-
Split, Belgrade-Ilercegnovi, Belgrade-Sarajevo-Dubrovnik, Belgrade-Dubrovnik,
Zagreb-Dubrovnik, Zagreb-Rijeka, Ljubljana-Rijeka, and Split-Zagreb runs.
The only international seasonal flight was the Rijeka-Graz (Sundays only)
run.
Transport of Passengers and Freight
Yugoslav Air Transport made 6,132 flights in 1951: 4,039 regular and
2,093 seasonal. A total of 4,966 were domestic flights: 2,902 regular and
2,064 seasonal. A total of 1,166 were international flights: 1,137 regular
and 29 seasonal.

Yugoslav Air Transport flew a total of 1,969,683 kilometers in 1951:
1,434,006 kilometers in regular flights and 535,677 in seasonal flights;
1,399,738 kilometers were covered in domestic flights -- 872,406 regular and
527,332 seasonal) 569,954 kilometers were covered in international flights --
561,000 regular and 8,345 seasonal.
A total of 86,206 passengers were transported in 1951: 50,835 on regular
flights and 35,371 on seasonal. Domestic flights transported 80,546 passen-
gers: 45,397 on regular flights and 35,149 on seasonal. International flights
transported 5,660 passengers: 5,438 on regular flights and 222 on seasonal.
A total of 251 tons of freight was transported: 182 tons on domestic
flights and 69 tons on international.
Yugoslav Air Transport carried 253 tons of mail: 181 tons on domestic
flights and 72 tons on international.
Yugoslav Air Transport also made 240 unscheduled flights in 1951 to
France, England, Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden, Holland, Egypt, Algiers, and
Israel; 201,491 kilometers were flown, and 455 passengers and 228 tons of
goods were transported.
Aviation in the Economy
Yugoslav Air Transport dusted 7,750 hectares of forest, sprayed 284 hec-
tares of vineyards, sprayed 1,500 hectares of malaria areas, and took aerial
photogrammetric pictures over an area of 503 hectares.
Yugoslav Air Transport as Agent
Yugoslav Air Transport acted as agent for American, French, Swiss, Dutch,
Turkish, Swedish, Norwegian, and Danish air lines.
Yugoslav Air Transport has agreements on transportation documents with
almost all international airlines of member countries of the International
jivi17 Aviation Organization, of which it is a member. Consequently, airline
tickets purchased through Yugoslav Air Transport facilities are valid on all
airline carriers of the International Aviation Organization. All these com-
panies are in turn general agents for Yugoslav Air Transport in their respec-
tive countries.
Yugoslav Air Transport has business offices in Frankfurt and Graz, and
it has permanent representations in Munich, Paris, and Athens.
