(East Hungarian Ball Bearing Factory) is being constructed on a sand dune opposite the public cemetery (koztemeto)" on the outskirts of Debrecen. Groundwork for the factory-began in October 1952, and today the large office building, the forge, the woodworking shop, and the main shop are partially completed. A special shed has been built on the site to prepare the largest concrete units ever produced in Hungary. Although the work is'impeded by frequent sandstorms, and by breaches of discipline, the party has promised that the factory will be producing before the end of the current Five-Year Plan. SOROKMAR IRON FOUNDRY NEARS COMPLETION-- Budapest, Magyar Nemzet, 11 Nov 52 The Soroksari Vasontode (Soroksar Iron Foundry) is being built beyond the railroad crossing on the outskirts of Soroksar, near the h'shway leading to Kecskemet. Planned as one of the most modern and most completely mechanized foundries In Europe, it wil: have a casting bay measuring 115 meters by 130 meters. The bay, which is being assembled of prefabricated concrete blocks, will house 24 cranes. Work is expected to begin in July 1953.
