The Novosibirsk Tya.;hatankogidropress Plsnt imeni A. I. Yefremov has manu-
factured a new high-production hea?ry planing machine, Model 7278. Parts up to
45 tons in weight, B,Oi1D millimeters long, 3,000 millimeters wide; and 2,500
millimeters high can be machined c?~ it.
The electric motor for driving the table is supplied by a generator which
le activated by a 115-kilowatt alternating-current motor. The speed of the
electric motor for the table drive is infinitely variable within the range of
125 to 1,250 revolutions per minute; the speed of 'the table work stroke changes
correspondingly from 5 to 50 meters per minute.
The machine tool has four heads. Each head has a working feed and rapid
trBevel in a horizontal and vertical plane. The amount of horizontal feed for
the cross-rail heads and the vertical feed for the side heads can be changed
within the range of 0.5 to 100 millimeters per double stroke of the table; the
vertical feed for the cross-rail heads and the horizontal feed for the aide
heads can be changed within Lhe range of 0.25-50 millimeters per double stroke.
The maximum total cutting force is 20,000 kilograms at a planing speed of
12 meters per minute.
The machine cool has push-buttor. control, operated primarily from the main
pane.. In addition tc the main pa:~el, there are four auxiliary control panels
in ?rarious ~oeations on the machine tool.
The planing machine is .18,600 millimeters long, 7,030 millimeters aide, ?
and 6,25C millimeters high. It weighs approximately 130 tons.
The new machine tool is intended for processing large machine housings at
heavy machine-building plants.
