ACTNITIES IN THE 5.4i~I.F,ITiS, 25 tMRCH - 7 AUGUST 1953 ALRFIELD BURNS IN SOVIET ZONE OF GERMANY -- Izmir, Anadolu, 28 May 53 Berlin, 27 May (Turkish News Agency) -- The Doebeln airfield, one of the largest in the Soviet Zone, has completely burned. Airfield employees report t' `. the aircraft at the field and Large amounts of building materials were destroyed. POLISH GTIERRILLAS CLASH WI'l+H RED ARMY UNITS -- Istanbul, Cumhuriyrt, 30 Jul 53 Berlin, 29 July (Nafen News Agency) -- According to reports reaching here, clashes are occurring between Red Army units and guerrillas in areas of Poland lyin3 close to Germany. The Polish guerrillas are causing the Soviets difficulty eapecielly by their sabotage of r~ilruads. Two divisioas from the Soviet occupation Yorces in East Germany have been sent to this area. Also, a 12,000-mzn force has been sent from Czechoslovakia to help combat the guerrillas. According to some reports, the Polish guerrillas have succeeded in taking over the cities of Bunzlau, Iauban, and Herzberg ~~. They have obtained their weapons and munitions by raids cn Soviet barracks. POLISH GUERRILLAS ATTACK EAST BESLffi-idOSCOW TRAIPI -- Istanbul, Cumhuriyet, 7 Aug 53 Drunswick, 6 August (Anatolian Agency) -- German workers from the Ammendorf railway car factory in East Germany who have fled to West Germany in recent days have reported that last week the "blue train," which operates between East Berlin and Mosccw, was attacked by Polish guerrillas. According to these refugees, many of the train's cars, bearing traces of bullets and bombs, were sent to the workshop for repairs.
