DESIGN DUPLICATOR L'.TLE ATTACHMENT IN HUNGARY
Jozsef Bogdanyi, Bela Nemei, Lajos Varga, Gyorgy Nemet, and Otto Zahalka,
of the Mintagepgyar (Model Machine Factory), have designed a duplicator lathe
attachment which will be known as the Hydrofix. The duplicator was constructed
and tested at the Mintagepgyar. It can be attached to any type of lathe.
A pattern of the piece to be worked is laid on the lathe. The duplicator
attachment has a feeler which measure; the pattern and sets the blades of the
lathe accordingly. The lathe will then reproduce the pattern with an error of
only one twentieth of a millimeter.
The duplicator attarh^ert has been in use for 6 months at the Esztergomi
Szerszamgepbyar (Eezter~;om I?t chinc Tool Factory). The average productivity of
the lathe on which it was installed increasel 430 percent, and nearly 900 per-
cent during a recent work competition.
The Hydrofix duplicator lathe attachment is being produced in series at
the Kobanyai 3earszamgepUar (Kobanya M_whine Tool Factory).
Bela Nemet, one of the young designers, has since become head of the
production department of the Ministry of General Machine Industry.
