A gigantic t.ect and power statior; is under construction 'in Zeran, suburb
oi' Warsaw, near the 4lisla River.
This station, which x111 consume 300 tons of coal daily, will supply heat
and electricity to many section: of Warsaw, including a series of workers'
settlements and quarters, as well as to the Palace of C,,lture and Science.

axcaveted 10.000 :ubic meters of earth, effectuated 3,OOC cubic maters of
concrete construction, and +ased 2,700 tons of steel for the construction of
this station. They have also done masonry wort: with ~t,~ million bricks. Eigh-
teen work brigades have completed 560 cubic meters of reinforced-concrete
work.
The construction crews engaged in the building operation have pledged to
complete this station in the coming year within the scope of the Six-Year
Plan.

A new ,,^,teel plant is under construction in I~Ilociny, a suburb of Warsaw.
This plant, which will be completed within the Six-Year Plan, will supply
very valuable raw materials to such enterprises as the Ur sus plant in Warsaw,
the Swierczewski plant in Warsaw, the Zeran idotor Vehicle Plant, and other
Warsaw metalworking pleats.

' The Mlociny site vas chosen for the construction of this ateel plant because
of the proximity of the area to the Wisls River, since thousands of cubic meters
of eater are required .for the operation of the plant.
The construction of this plant was started during spring 1953? Fifty mil-
lion bricks and 200,000 cubic meters of cement will be used in the construction
of this plant. It will have railroad, streetcar, and subway connections with
Warsav. Workers' quarters for this project will be established on a site be-
tween Bielany and Mlociny.
