TERRORIST ACTIVITIES IN THE SATELLITES, 21 JUNE - 1 SFPTEMBER 1 COMMUNIST PERSECUTION INTENSIFIED IN ALBANIA -- Athens, To Vima, 12 Jul 53 Ioannina -- According to reports of Albanian refugees who recently ar- rived in Greece, the Albanian military authorities are executing all citizens who oppose the strict measures imposed upon Greek-speaking inhabitants living near the Greek-Alb';n'.an frc-itier. The authorities are also executing all ele- ments opp:.sed to the preB.!at Albanian regime. Recently Nikolnos Mallios, a southern Albanian inhabitant from Haskove, was executed outside the Moslem cemetery of Gjiaokaster. Mallios was the manager of the large state farm of Kalogaraetz, located near the Greek frontier. TURKISH MINORITY PERSECUTED IN BULGARIA -- Istanbul, Cumhurlyet, 1 Sep 53 Belgrade, 31 August (Turkish News Agency) -- According tc reports, Turks living in Bulgaria are being subjected to intensified persecution. For ex- ampl., the treatment of Turks recently sent to labor camps in the Plovdiv, Ruse, and Vidin areas for failure to join the Communist Party is described as brutal. Conse- quently, many clergymen have been arrested because they refused to become party organs and cooperate in making up false accusations against innocent citizens. At the same time, those workers who openly attend church services are watched by secret party cadres and are made to do extra work until they prove that they have renounced their religious beliefs. In a recent speech to press reporters, Chervenkov stated that suspicious reactionary activities take place in Bulgaria and he asked the journalists, who are secret party agents, to assist him.in cor,- ducting purges of the enemies of the people. DEPORTATION COMMITTEES SET UP IN HUNGARY -- Athens, Stratiotika Sea, 5 Jul 53 Special deportation committees have been established in the Hungarian provinces to carry on deportation activities against Hungarian peasants and la- borers. Each committee is composed of the local party secretary, the manager of the producers cooperatives and two members of the local council. Recently, Budapest has also been the site of many deportations. ' y portations.
