Ploteworthy accomplishments hmre been realised in the field of foreign
tr^de. Tra3e with the Soviet Union sod :rith the new nations of Eastern Europe
has steadily increased.. At the International Economic Conference held this
April in hiosco?.r, China signed trnde ngreements :rith England, France, Belgium,
Holland, S;ritzer].and, Ceylon, Indonesia, Pakistan, Finland, and other nations.
The total import-export value of these agreements is equivalent to 223,600,000
Amet?ican dollars.
On 1 June we signed a trnle ogreement in Peiping With representatives
of Japanese private enterprise for goods vs].ued ~t 30 million English pounds.
!de estimate that, in addition to trade cerried on with the Soears Uimportnc:cport
the near nntions, we shall be ~b]e to develop, i;ithin 2 or 3 y ,
trade with pt?ivate-enterprise nations wor'tli bet:reen 15 billion ^nd 19 billion
