NEW UNDERREAMERS, BRAKES -- Baku, Bakinskiy Rabochiy, 1 May 53
The Haku Kishlinakiy Mactiiae Building Plant, successfully meeting its
production plan, this year produced for the first time the following
items: underreamers for use with turbine drills, single- and double-rotor
hydromatic brakes, a device for securing the dead end of cables under deep
drilling conditions, and other equipment for the petroleum industry. Pro-
duction of light draw works and cf winches for use in electric coring is
being established..
NEW PIPE-LAYING MACHIDIF -- Leningradskaya Pravda, 2 Jul 53
The Leningrad I4achinery Plant of the Ministry of the Petroleum In-
dustry USSR has completed and is testing, machii;ea of a new design for laying
pipelines, including gas mains, transversely under roads or railroads with-
out interrupting traffic..
OIL WELL, PIPELINE EQUIPMENT -- Petrozavodsk, Leninskoye 7.namye, 14 Jul 53
The Moscow Experimental Machinery Plsnt of the Ministry of the Petraletun
Industry USSR has sent to oil fields the first lot of cement mixers for use
in cementing oil wells. These mixers deliver 20 ?ona of cement in 15-20
minutes.
A new design has been worked eut for a rotary ditching machines to be
used in laying main pipelines and gee seine. Also of interest is a new
bulldozer with a ~orizontally~ pivoted blade, which can be used in filling
up trenches after the pipe has been laid.

toxer for extra-deep drilling, and has produced the parts for ten more.

xaiking excavator, nox being assembled, xith a bucket of 20-cubic-meter
capacity. Designers are also xorking on an excavator xith a 35-cubic-meter
bucket capacity and a 100-meter boom

The SverdlovsY. Uralmash Plant has completed a walking excavator xith a
bucket capacity of 20 cubic meters and a 65_meter boom. The nex machine is
a development of former models xith bucket capacities of 10 and 14 cubic
meters. The boom and winches have been modified.
The excavator is to be used in open-pit coal mining.

The Ivanoro Peat Machinery Plant has sent the Karinskiy enterprise of
the Kirov Peat Trust ari electric, self-propelled machine designated the
UPF-2, Yor gathering and transferring milled pest. The new machine can
gather and lay out 900 cubic meters of peat per hour. Despite its great
size, the machine is highly maneuverable, and requires cnly tr+o operators.
Since the beginning of the year, the plant has shipped 24 peat-
gathering machines, a large number of excavator attachmAnts for breaking
frozen earth, high-pressure peat pampa, and spare parts to the peat enter-
prieee of Moskmrekaya, Leningradakaya, and Kalininekaya oblasta and to the
Belorussian and Lithuanian SSRso

The Ivanovo Peat Machinery Plant has constructed a new machine for
clearing timber from peat fields and ataci:ing it. The machine is
essentially an excavator with the boom and shovel replaced by a disk
Barr and a stacking device. It is designated the ESL-4.

The Leningrad Lentorfmash Plant has completed 30 new self-propelled
machines for gathering milled peat. Their productivity is three times
that of existing machines.
