TO PRODUCE NEW CRANE __ Minsk, Sovetskaya Belorussiya, 14 Aug 53
For 3 years the Borisov Proletarskiy Molot Plant has been producing Pioner
construction cranes. The Pioner, of very simple design, can be disassembled and
installed on a special platform on any floor of the building under construction.
It can hoist 300 kilograms to a height of 20-22 meters at a speed of 0.25 mete:
per second, and can turn through a full circle. The crane is powered by an elec-
tric motor.
The plant is soon to put into production the KP-3 crane, with a hoisting
capacity of 500 kilograms.
NEW TOWER CRATE WITH "MICRODRIVE" -- Moscow, Vechernyaya Moskva, 18 Aug 53
The Kuybyshev Construction Machinery Plant has established production of
a new tower crane which caT. lift a 5-ton load to a height of 61 meters. The
crane ie powered by six 60-kilowatt electric motors. It has a boom 22.5 meters
long, and a special "microdrive" for laying large blocks accurately in place.
NEW CRANE HAS DOUBLE CAPACITY OF SBK-1 -- Leningradskaya Pravda, 21 Jul 53
The Yasinovataya Machine Building Plant has shipped to Moscow a new SBK-2
mobile tower crane to be used in the construction of tali buildings. The crane
is 70 meters high and neighs over 100 tons. It can raise a 5-ton load to a 20-
story height at a rate of 35 meters per minute. It has almost double the hoist-
ing capacity of the SBK-1.
The crane operator's cab, located at a height of 12 stories, is equipped
with a radio speaker for communication with the other construction workers.

SHIP OVERHEAD CRANE -- Tbilisi, zarya Vostoka, 13 pug 53
The Leningrad Hoist sad Transport Equipment Plant imen: Kirov has sent
an electric overhead traveling crane with a hoisting capacity of 75 tons to
the Tbilisi Locomotive Repair Plant.
CLAMSHELL CRANES GO TO RIVER PORTS -- Kiev, Pravda Ukx?a1nY, 5 Aug 53
The Riga Machine Building Plant of the Ministry of Maritime and river
Fleet has shipped powerful clamshell cranes to Shcherbakov and Comel', and to
Irtyah River ports.
DELIVER ELEVATOR EQUIPMENT __ Moscow, Vechert~yaya Moskva, 7 Sep 53
In August 1950, when the Moscow 3oko1'aicheskiy Car Repair Pant began
producing .cinches and cab frames for elevators, the output was six to eight
winches per month. Since then, labor productivity has risen to eight to nine
' times its Former'level.
Today, the plant's Technical Control Division received the thousandth set
of elevator equipment from the electrical machinery shop.
LOWER COST OF REDUCTION UNITS --,Tashkenb, Pravda Vostoka, 13 Sep 53
Reduction units-Produced by the Leningrad Krasnyy Metallist Plant are
used in powerful cranes, rolling mills, conveyers, and other machinery.
Yesterday, the plant turned out five FM-500 reduction units, on xhich la-
bor consumption was more than 20 percent lower than on units produced at the be-
ginning oP 1953?
Production costs this year have been reduced almost 10 percent, and the
plant made a profit of over 3 mi111on.rubles.. .
SHIP CONVEYERS FOR CONSTRUCTION WORK --. Vil'nyus, Sovetskaya Litva, 4 Aug 53
The ALma_Ata Machinery Plant of the Ministry of Electric Power Stations
and Electrical Industry has sent 15 belt conveyers to the new construction
projects of Uzbekistan and the southern Urals. Since the beginning oP 1953,
the plant has furnished builders with dozens of conveyers for excavation work
and for loading and unloading fuel.
