It was announced in an advertisement that the Peiping Yung-feng Chemi-
cal Factory contracted on 15 October 1953 to sell its entire production of
calcium carbonate to the China Chemical Supplies Company

The Tientsin Purchase and Supply Office of the China Chemical Supply
Company has been given exclusive monopoly in marketing the products of the
following chemical dye factories: Chung-Jan, Tzu-hsing, Ching-t'ai, T'ung-
feng, Chi-pei, and Tung-sheng.

The Amoy Branch of the state-operated China Pharmaceutical Company re-
ceived a large supply of drugs, including quinine, made by the East China
Pharmaceutical Company in Shanghai. Each bottle contains 1,000 tablets of
quinine. The wholesale price is 100,000 yuan; retail, 113,300 yuan.

The Academia Sinica has been successful in its experiments in produc-
ing' Hsi-li-sheng" Fungicide for cotton and wheat diseases. It prevents
black smut on wheat, cotton blight, joint rot, and "T'an-chu" (cool cancer)
on cotton.
