MORE MACHINES FOR ANIMAL HUSBANDRY -- Riga, Sovetskaya Latviye, 18 Sep 53
The Riga Sarknnays bietalists Plant produces automatic watering, troughs,
wagons, and turntables for animal husbandry and spare parts for plows. The
plant has decided to increase its production goals for 1953 by a total of
30,000 plowshares, 16,000 automatic animal catering troughs, and 300 turntables.
PRODUCTION PLAN EXCEEDED NEW MACHINES DESIGNED -- Moscow, Trud, 18 Sep 53
The Kiev Machinery Plant of the Main Administration of Agricultural Machine
Building produced 200 feed steamers in excess of its 1953 plan. The plant is
now working on designs of a machine for cleaning irrigation ditches, and on a
water-control device for field irrigation. It is completing designs of the
first tractor-mounted water-sprinkling device. In 1953, the plant supplied the
Georgian SSR with ten universal machines for tea crop cultivating.

The 1953 production rate oP the Lvov L'vovsel'mash plant is 2.4 times as
great as the 1950 rate, and production costs of agricultural machines have been
reduced 41 percent in the same period.
The plant produces feed steamers and has supplied tens oP thousands of
these machines to sovkhozes and kolkhozes. The plant also produces s ra
and dusters for pest control in orchards and vineyards.

COUPLERS INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY OF TRACTORS -- Moscov, Meshinno-Traktornaya

The Mal?-Pomoshnyanskaya MTS, Kirovogradskaya Oblast, is getting the most
out oP its tractors by equipping them vith special coupling devices. By extend-
ing the 5-18 coupler oP the DT-54 tractor by 6 meters on each end, the,,pT,-5!~'
tractor can have 36 or 38 zigzag harroxa coupled to it. The KDP-35 tractor can
~'ax 23 harroxs with a coupler similar to the one used xith the DT-54 tractor.
The U-2 tractor vorka with 12 harroxs, using a mounted coupler.
Txo SSh-6 planters caa be coupled to the KDP_35 tractor. This combination
