Leaflets inserted between the pages of the November issues of some Soviet
periodicals (among them, Eneraetichesl~iv Byulleten' and Elektricheskive Stantsii
announced the nnenir.~ of subscriptions to a new monthly periodical, Teploenerpe-
tika (Pleat Power EngineerinG)? It is to be an organ of the Ministry of Electric
Power Stations and the ELectrical Industry USSR, the Ministry of Heavy and Trans-
port Machine Building USSR, and the Academy of Sciences USSR. The date of pub-
lication of the first issue was not announced.
According to the leaflets, Teploenergetika is intended for wide groups of
engineering and scientit'ic workers in heat power engineering, as well as students
Sn senior courses of heat-power engineering specialties at higher educational
institutions." It will carry articles on basic problems of heat engineering;
scientii'Sc research of most practical interest and importance in the field of
heat-power engineering; experience of engineering workers at electric power sta-
tions, in the power machlne building industry, and in the planning field; dis-
cussions of basic subjects in heat engineering; and reviews of books on heat
power engineering. The leaflets state that it is to be the basic publication
where the most important theoretical and practical problems which are of interest
to heat-power engineers of our country can find expression." Annual subscrip_
tion price will be 96 rubles.
Neftyanoye Khozyaystvo and Khimicheskuya Promyshlennost'
The inside back covers of the November and December 1953 issues of
Energeticheskiy Byulleten' (Power Engineering Bulletin) carried an announce-
ment by the Main Administration of Soyuzpechat' (Union Publishing House) of
the Ministry of Comununications of the opening oi' subscriptions for 1954 to ten
Soviet publications in the electrical, chemical, power, mining, and petroleum
engineering fields. Two of these, the monthly periodicals Neftyanoye Khozyaystvo
(Petroleum Economy) and Khimicheskuya Promyshlennost' (Chemical Industr
special notice. The last issue received in F'DD was No 10, October 1948y ofdtherve
former; No 12, December 1947, of the latter.
Izvestiya Vsesoyuznogo Teplotekhnicheskogo Institute imeni Feliksa Dzerzhirskogo
This monthly periodical (News of the A11-Union Heat Engineering Institute
imeni Fe11ks Dzerzhinskiy) was available in 1947? From 1948 to 1951, subscrip-
tions to this periodical were refused. In 1952, the periodical again was re-
ceived regularly, and all issues for that year are available. In 1953, however,
subscriptions to the periodical were again refused and no subsequent issues are
available.
Liteynoye Proizvodstva
The periodical Liteynoye Proizvodstvo (Foundry Production), an organ of the
Ministry o1'Ffachine Building USSR and the A11-Union Scientific and Technical
Society of Foundrymen~ has been received regularly in FDD on a monthly basis

since it first appeared in 1951. In issue No 8, August 1953, it was announced
that the periodical would be published bimonthly beginning with issue No 9,
making a total of ten issues for 1953. The subscription announcement for 1954
indicates that the periodical will continue to be published on a bimonthly
basis.

Tne monthly periodical 0 eu ory (Refractories), organ of the Ministry of
Ferrous Metallurgy USSR, was available from 1948 through 1952. Rawever, no
issues have, been received for 1953.
Zhurnal Tekhnicheskoy F.iziki
No 1953 issues of the monthly periodical Zhurnal Tekhnicheskoy Fiziki
(Journal of Technical Physics) were obtained except No 1 and 2 January and
February) which were procured by exchange. The periodical had been received
through 1952.
