MACHINE-BUILDING PLANT MANUFACTURES HUGE LATHE -- Kiev, Pravda Ukrainy, 30 Sep 53
The Staro-Kramatorsk Heavy-Machine-Building Plant recently completed the
assembly of a new .z.; he which is 90 meters long, weighs 600 tons, and is driven
by 40 electric motors.
ASSIGN MANUFACTURE OF LATHES TO YEYSK PLANT -- Tbilisi, Zarya Vostoka,
13 Aug 53
A group of workers, including Moskovoy, deputy director; Sit'kov, chief
technologist; and Chizh, chief of the Division of Technical Control of the
Yeysk Machinery Plant, visited the Tbilisi Machine-Tool-Building Plant imeni
Kirov to become acquainted with the technology if producing 1D63A lathes. The
Yeysk Plant has been commissioned to master the production of these machine
tools and to set up series production of them for MTS throughout the USSR.
The Tbilisi machine-tool builders supplied the Yeysk workers with blue-
prints and related their own experiences in machine-tool production. The
ieysk group asked that the Tbilisi workers maintain contact with them.
VEF PLANT USES KRASNYY PROLETARIY LATHES -- Riga, Sovetskaya Latviya, 14 Aug 53
Model )620 lathes produced by the Moscow Krasnyy Proletariy Machine-Tool-
Building Plant imeni Yefremov are in operation at the Riga VEF Plant. E. Damberg, a
lathe operator at the VEF Plant, has acnieved a cutting speed of 4,437 meters
per minute on one of these machine tools.

SHIP LATHES TO MACHINE-BUILDING PLANTS AND SHIP-REPAIR WORKSHOPS -- Riga,
Sovetskaya Latviya, 16 Aug 53
The Moscow Krasnyy Proletariy Plant ships high-production screw-cutting
lathes to machine-building plants in Tallin and Kaunas, and to ship-repair
workshops in Riga and Ventspils.
EQUIPMENT FOR MTS -- Moscow, Moskovskiy Komsomolets, 27 Aug 53
The Moscow Krasnyy Proletariy Plant is increasing its output of
universal high-speed screw-cutting (engine) lathes for MTS.
On 26 August, the plant shipped 15 machine tools to MTS. Since the
beginning of 1953, the plant has manufactured about 170 lathes for MTS, and
by the end of 1953, it will have produced more than 1,400 additional lathes
for the same purpose.

The Moscow Krasnyy Proletariy Plant was commissioned to manufacture
1,500 machine tools for MTS repair workshops by the end of 1953? It al-
ready has shipped 200 universal screw-cutting lathes for this purpose.
The plant's shops also make tractor spare parts. Of the 10,000 tractor
gears that the second machine shop was assigned to manufacture, it has al-
ready produced 7,000. The first machine shop was assigned to machine 1,500
Transmission shift] forks. More than half of this task already has been
completed.

In 1953, the Moscow Krasnyy Proletariy Plant will manufacture about
1,800 lathes for repair enterprises of the Ministry of Agriculture and
Procurement USSR.
In September alone, the plant manufactured and shipped 450 universal
screw-cutting lathes to MTS and repair enterprises. This is twice as many
machine tools as were shipped for agricultural purposes in all of the pre-
ceding 8 months of 1953.
Tallin, Sovetskaya Estoniya, 3 Sep 53
The Tallin Repair Plant of the Ministry of Agriculture and Procurement
Estonian SSR has prepared a consignment of 49 universal machine tools for
union republics.
Having produced hundreds of machine tools for MTS since the beginning
of the year, the plant has completed its 1953 plan in machine-tool building
ahead of schedule.
Tallin machine tools are used at MTS machine workshops in Belorussian,
Latvian, and Lithuanian SSR and in Leningradskaya, Arkhangel'skaya,
Kaliuinskaya, and other oblasts.

With an assignment to produce 300 machine tools per year, the Tallin
Repair, Plant of the Ministry of Agriculture and Procurement Estonian SSR
already has shipped 316 universal machine tools for boring babbited bear-
ings to MTS workshops in the Balt`.c area, Belorussian SSR, and Leningradskaya,
Arkhangel'skaya and other oblasts.
Vil'nyus, Sovetskaya Litva, 12 Sep 53
The Vil'nyus Zhal'giris Machin4-Tool-Building Plant consigns machine
tools to enterprises in Kharkov, Novo-Kramatorsk, Kiev, and other cities.
The plant has filled an order placed by the Chardzhouskaya MTS. Turk-
menSSR for drilling machines.

The Oktemberyan Machinery Plant of the Ministry of Agriculture and
Procurement USSR has manufactured and shipped vertical drilling machines
toayaplavinskaya MTS, Stalingradskaya Oblast; Sukkulovskaya MTS, Bashkir-
ASSR; ya MTS, U1 yanovskaya Oblast; Mikhaylovskaya MIS,
Krasnodarskiv Kray; and Dzhafarabadskaya MTS, Azerbaydzhan SSR.
