NEW HUNGARIAN CAMERA TO RESEMBLE LEICA -- Budapest, Szabad Nep, 26 Nov 53
Sandor Szabo, engineer of the Opti'sai Kutatolaboratorium (Optical Research
Laboratory), has designed a camera similar in appearance, structure, and per-
formance to the German Leica.
The machine has a coupled range finder. It takes forty-five 24 by 32 milli-
meter negatives on regular 35 millimeter-wide film. The lens speed is f 3.5.
The focal length of the lens is 5 centimeters. The camera is designed in such
a way that it will be usable at greater lens speed also.
Pictures taken with the prototype are clear in every detail and can be
enlarged greatly without loss of clarity. The camera will be produced in series
in 1954 by the Magyar Optikai Muvek (Hungarian Optical Works)
