In 1953, 52 million tone of petroleum, or 70 percent core than in 1940,
are to be produced in the USSR.(1)
The Ministry of Petroleum Industry USSR fulfilled the 6-month plan by
100.5 percent. The following percentages indicate production during the first
half 1953 ae compared with the first half 1952: petroleum, 111 percent, gas-
oline, 109 percent, kerosene, 124 percent, natural gas, 106 percent, and pe-
troleum equipment, 127 percent. At enterprises of the ministr,~ during the same
period, the speeds of developmental and exploratory drilling increased and the
percentage of light end products derived from crude petroleum increesed.(2)
The plan of the Ministr,~ of Petroleum Industry USSR for production of pe-
troleum and light end petroleum products for 1953 was fulfilled on 28 Deceaber
1953?(3)
The petroleum industry of the USSP. produced more than 52 million tons of
petroleum during 1953-(4)
The Dinistry of Petroleum Industry USSR fulfilled the 1953 Plan for gross
output by 100.9 percent. The following percentages indicate production during
1953 as compared with production during 1952: petroleum, 112 percent, gasoline,
111 percent, keroaene,?123 percent, and petroleum ruchinery, 117 percent.
At enterprises of the ainistry during 1953, the speed of developmental
drilling increased by 5 percent in comparison with 1952 and the speed of ex-
ploratory drilling increased by 10 percent is comparison with 1952? However,
the ministry failed to fulfill the yearly plan for exploratory drilling.
