The "Lenin" State Metallurgical Plant in Dimitrovo has an annual capacity
of 250,000 tons of crude steel, 226,000 tons of pig iron, and 10,000 tons oP
rolled material. At present, txo open-hearth furnaces are in operation and
production amounts to 50,000 tors of steel and :10,000 tons of rolled products
annually.
STEAGUL ROSU PLANT IN STALIN, RUMANIA -_ Stockholm, Ny Dag, 21 Tan 54
According to a report xritten by Willy Lindeberg, a Malmo lrtist who
returned from a trip to Rumania, the Steagul Rosu Plant in Stalin employs 30,000
xorkers. The plant produces, among other thugs, radial, axial, end spherical
ball bearings. Connected xith the plant is a school providing a 3-year course
for 1,500 apprentices.
NEW DUMP TRUCK MANUFACTURID IN BUCHAREST PLANT -- Tehran, Journal de Tehraa,

The 23 August factory in Bucharest is nox manufacturing a 15-ton dump truck
with a 120-horsepoxer GM-type motor. The truck has 5 pneumatically operated
gears, 2 poxeri'ul differentials, and 2 front and 8 rear xheels.

model of a crawler-mounted excavator [probably Soviet. F5n51 in December 1^53.
Buiii under Soviet Union license, the snoop of the machine his a capacity of
one half cubic meter. The hourly capacity of the machine is EO-75 cubic meters
of earth

Glogow -- A shipyar3 khich will be the amity's largest industrial enterprise
is now being built at Glogow. The shipyard, which will build mainly barges and
tugs, is to be in full operation by 1955? Houses are ring built on the banks
of the Oder river for the 1,000 workers to be employed by the shipyard.

The Stralsund People's Shipyard, formerly known as Krceger Shipyard, has
recently been equipped with a slipway for vessels up to 1,000 tons. The ship-
yard is engaged in repairing and re-equipping salvaged ships; in addition, it
is building 2$ luggers or patrol boats every quarter, and is F,rticipating in
the USSR submarine construction program.
The 7,000 workers of the shipyard are housed in widely dispersed wooden ?
barracks. Many of the laborers have been conscripted from other parts of the
GDR.
The entrance to the pore of Stralsund is heavily guarded by Soviet warships
and speedboats of the People's Sea Police. German and Soviet ship crews are
kept strictly separated; restrictions on shore leave keep the sailors confine3
to their quarters.
